Procrastination

When we fail to do things, when we have time, we are filled with regret. We become unhappy, unhealthy and unwealthy.

When we are young, time seems to stand still, but sooner or later time is at hand.  It is important to develop good habits from a young age.  A disciplined life is always a productive life.  When we wake up in the morning, it is important to begin our day with a positive frame of mind.  Begin with a prayer, breakfast and then possibly some exercise like yoga and running.  This type of lifestyle will help you to avoid procrastination.  Otherwise you will have difficulty making decisions and become impulsive.

 

Procrastination can affect our health, wealth and happiness.  When you are disciplined, you will avoid putting off things that you must do.  You can lose money and be poor if you do not do things right away.  If you have a tax deadline and you skip it, think of all the penalty you have to pay and loose money.  If you skip your doctor’s appointment, it can affect your health negatively. You are less likely to be happy if you loose money, have poor health and have no control over your life. 

 

Some of the tasks we have to do can be difficult.  We might not like some of them.  But we have to make the effort.  The best thing is to break difficult tasks into smaller ones.  You have to decide what you want to achieve.  Make the appointment, if you have to see the doctor and stick to it.  Set a time for meditation and exercise that is suitable with your lifestyle and keep it.  Keep fast some day during week, if you are trying to loose weight.  Every task you finish will help clear your mind and make you feel better about yourself.

 

Do not try to do too many things at once.  This kind of attitude only distracts you from concentrating on what you are doing.  Do one thing at a time and you will able to enjoy it more?  Try to do the things that you have to do, when you have the time to do it.  Otherwise, procrastination will cause you to be poor, unhealthy and unhappy.

 

Try to find out what is it that inspires you.  We all have something in our lives that we are drawn to.  Some passion like crafts, painting, singing, playing the guitar and many others.  When we try to enjoy what inspires us, we will be filled with motivation to work towards our endeavors and be happy. 

 

Then when we have worked, and enjoy good health, wealth and happiness, we should reward ourselves.  You can take a vacation you always wanted, buy some new clothes, or having a better car.  But these will be not possible, if we have regrets on our minds by failing to do what we are suppose to do.
