Procrastination
Do not wait to do something – You may not get the chance.
Have you done any of the things you have been planning to do? I know I haven’t. Sit down and write down what it is you have been meaning to do. Then add more or less the year in which you started thinking about it. No, I am not joking – the year. It is surprising how long one can spend thinking about something and never get round to doing something about it.
That is called procrastination and it is as bad a habit as smoking or drinking or any other habit that contains the risk of damaging our health. It damages you mental health and therefor you physical health, because you carry it around along with all your other baggage. All the things you put of dealing with, people you never get round to calling – a really heavy load that drains your bit by bit until you have no energy of enthusiasm left for anything.
So sit down, make a list and start doing something about it. Yes, do it now – before you get a chance to procrastinate yet again. Consider everything you have on the list and decide if you actually wanted to do it or not and how important it is to you. Turn what is left into a ‘bucket list’ with a deadline attached, because once you exchange the present for the eternal you can for get about doing anything about it. And then what was the point?
Now! Quickly, before you start putting it off! And beware of turning list making in to a procrastination tool.
