Public Speaking

Believe it or not this is many people’s worst fear.

Public Speaking may be difficult for people.  Speaking to a group of people in a
classroom, meeting, or lecture hall can be nerve racking.

Here are a few tips for getting through your turn at the podium:

Know your audience
When you go to speak it may seem a bit redundant, but know who your speaking to.
Be able to adapt to the audience you have.   Some trick you may have for one audience
may not work for another.

Be Prepared
Have your notes prepared, do not be afraid to refer to them.
This can help you and your audience.  This way you can feel like you
know what you are talking about.

Be time oriented
make sure when you are speaking you speak clearly.  Sometimes when you are nervous
you may speak quicker and fumble your words. Take your time to speak clearly, yet
at the same time try not to waste time.

Some people may go through their lives being uncomfortable speaking to a room
full of people, while others may make this look easy it is not always the case.
That is where terms like “Stage fright” comes from.  It is not that you have this fear it is
how you deal with it.
