Quick Fixes to Feeling Well
Illness and associated symptoms are signs we need to listen to so that we can stave off poor health and feel better. Life is so much more enjoyable if we are alert, energetic and pain free.
Our bodies tell us when we need to take a break, breathe deeply, to relax, cleanse physically, emotionally and mentally. We must keep tuned into what our bodies are telling us.
Illness and associated symptoms are signs we need to listen to so that we can stave off poor health and feel better. Life is so much more enjoyable if we are alert, energetic and pain free.
Quick fix 1 - SOAK, for 20 minutes, in a warm bath infused with 2 cups of apple cider vinegar. It is a powerful detox that purifies your body by pulling out toxins thus clearing blocked energy.
Quick fix 2 - EAT a small, satisfying meal rich in complex carbohydrates. What you eat can affect your outlook and mood greatly. Complex carbs can lift your spirit and help you let go of all the negativities.
Quick fix 3 – BREATH consciously; focus on your breathing and take a series of deep belly breaths. This counters anxiety and fear by forcing you to concentrate on your breathing.
Quick fix 4 – To breath freely, clear out your sinuses by inhaling from a mix vicks vapor rub and warm salt water; place a towel over your head while inhaling a few deep breaths. Congestion associated with allergies or infection will gradually ease.
Quick fix 5 - RELIEVE headaches, tension and fatigue by applying pressure to the accupressure point between thumb and forefinger. Squeeze for 20 seconds and release for 10 seconds, without letting go, four times.
Quick fix 6 – TAKE time out, relax in a warm (or cool) space and tune out. A few minutes lost in daydreams or listening to soothing music can present frustrated circumstances in a new light.
(I do this tuning out in the shower with hot water falling on my lower back. I usually sleep extremely well if I do this prior to going to bed).
Quick fix 7 – If you are feeling poorly or you think you may be coming down with an illness, brew a wellness tea. SImmer in 5 cups of water, 3 lemons, sliced, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger and 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Simmer until lemons are soft and strain a portion into a mug. Add honey to taste and drink this potent mix 3 times a day. The brew is filled with antibacterial and antiviral ingredients to help stave off illness.
