Quiet the Mind
To quiet your mind, or to think of nothing, is harder than it is to think of something. A quiet mind is necessary for work with psychic energy.
To quiet your mind, or to think of nothing, is harder than it is to think of something. A quiet mind is necessary for work with energy.
When you think of energy, in a psychic reference, our own energy is familiar, and intrinsic. It is other energy that we need to contact, or avoid, consciously. It is good to be aware of your own energy, as well as the energy of others.
When you can quiet your mind, then you are able to let other energies in, or keep them out. Think of other energies as frequencies that are different from your own. A crowded mind cannot let other frequencies in. It does not allow room for other signals. If you are crowding your mind, then there won’t be any room for anything else.
If you think of your mind as a hard drive, you can expand the amount of space allotted in your mind that you use for the purpose of psychic self-control. It takes practice and discipline, and one of the first things that a person must learn to do is to create a unique space in which to “deal with” the flow of information that will come in.
Sensing energy, other than your own, is a step in the right direction. You also need to be able to let other energies into your mind enough so you can interact successfully with them, or to let them in so you can identify them, and block them. Not all energy that you sense will be desirable.
Practice “blanking” your mind, or practice thinking of nothing. This is not easy to start doing, but it gets easier with practice. Have you ever done something where you are so wrapped up in what you are doing, that everything else around you just “goes away”? This is how a quiet mind is. The hard part is wrapping yourself up in the task of thinking “nothing”.
You will know when you find the “quiet nothingness”. It could hit like an epiphany and startle you out of the quiet of nothing, but this is okay. Each time you find the quiet of “nothing”, it is easier to go back.
