Reasons to feel good about yourself

Some little reminders for when you are feeling stressed and under pressure! Read them, Print them out, and Pin them on your wall. Share them with the ones you care about. There are plenty of reasons to feel good about yourself.

If you are having a bad day and giving yourself a hard time, take a look at this list, print it out and pin it somewhere that you see it everyday!

Sometimes doing your best is good enough. Don’t spend your evenings concentrating on something you didn’t quite master – take time to list the things that you did well and the positive impact your work has had.

You know that you can’t please everybody. Remember the people who are delighted with what you have achieved and done. Make a note of the reasons why other people weren’t happy and think about how you can do things differently next time.

You are stronger than you think. You have worked through several difficult situations and this has made you stronger. People know this about you and there is at least one person who is thinking they wish they could be more like you and deal with things in the same way!

It’s fine to say No! Saying No is not a sign of weakness, it is an indication that you know your own strengths and are able to prioritise. If you don’t want to say No, then just learn to say ‘Not right now!’

You may not be perfect but you are unique – and that is pretty damn fine! Unique is special, to be prized and looked after – so make sure you keep yourself as healthy as you can. Take the time to look after yourself and nourish your uniqueness – it’s important!

Change is good but it takes time. Don’t put pressure on yourself to do anything you don’t feel ready for but concentrate on recognising the little things that will begin to make change possible.

It’s okay to take a break! Sometimes doing absolutely nothing is the best form of action – so value stepping off the roundabout and don’t be afraid to switch your phone OFF!

A child once asked me if wishes come true. I answered that ‘for some people their wishes come true but for others it can take a lifetime’. Believe in your wishes, hopes and dreams – and remember to keep the hopes of other’s alive too. Never take away somebody’s hopes and dreams because for some people, it is all they have got.
