Role Model for Strength

Being told you are a role model, but you don’t see it like others do.

  I was once told that I was a role model, to all of the military girls I talked to. I truly do not understand how I am, when I am no different then them. I wondered if it was because they they did not think they could be strong while their man was away. I asked them why they thought they weren’t strong? Was it because they cried because they miss them, or because they love their men so much and hate knowing that he is over there fighting and could get hurt. I wondered if it was because they fell apart, maybe everyday that they did not feel strong. All these things that I was feeling too, yet I am the role model. For all of the girls doubting themselves, this is what I told them. This is what I am telling any military girl out there telling themselves that they arent strong enough.

  You are stronger than you think and I am not just saying that, its true. Even the strongest have to break, to pick themselves back up and put the pieces back together… Your strength lies in your heart it takes someone with stregth to love someone so far away! It takes strength to hold together a home while you are missing the one person you love and you feel like you can’t go on, but you put one foot in front of the other and keep going! Just think about it, if you did not have the strength to be in this relationship would you have done it in the first place? Knowing what you were getting into?

  There are not women out there like us, made for military men for no reason. We were put here to stand by them, loving and supporting them!! We are all the same and we all deal with this in our own ways. No matter how you get through it, you are strong.

  The response I got from this was;

 ”absolutely true.
we are all strong or we wouldnt be doing this. we all have our moments where we feel like we cant go on and like nothing will be ok but the truth is, we lived to right that down. we lived through it, we get it out and we keep going. that is strength, not letting what bothers us to stop us. and no one here has stopped.”

 ”That is such a true statement.x”

  Even when you feel you are broken and cannot go on, think of those who have and still are. You are stronger then you give yourself credit for.
