Setting Goals
Handy tips to attaining your dreams.
Ten percent of people keep clear; timely goals and that same percentage consider themselves a success. Here’s a quick, fun guide to goal keeping.
KEEP IT SIMPLE ( K.I.S.S )
This acronym platitude applies to many areas of living as well writing goals.
- Good: “I want lots of page views from Triond.”
- Best: “In a year I want one million views from Triond.”
CLEAR AS a BELL
Writing the perfect goal requires a clear idea of what you want.
- Good: “The views will be really coming in and they will be building every day.”
- Best: “My million pageviews will flow to me - now.”
TIMEBOUND
Time, we spend it lavishly. Plan to spend it wisely by setting your goal at a future time and date.
- Good: “Next January I’d like to have a million views”
- Best: “On Friday the 9th of January, 2009 ( 9/1/9 ) at 9pm I’ll have one million hits”
MEASURE IT!
You must be able to count that goal.
- Good: “My page views will happen”
- Best: “My one million page views will occur by 9/1/9 at 9pm.
IMAGINATION, IMAGINATION, IMAGINATION
Just like that dream of John Lennon’s, “Imagine,” so colour your dreams.
- Good: “My page views will just happen.”
- Best: “Great articles will ensure my one million hits by January the 9th, 2009, at 9pm”
COMPUTER PROGRAMS
I prefer putting my goals into a computer for quick reference.
- Good: Word and Excel tables
- Best: Microsoft PowerPoint
FEW CATEGORIES
There are a few categories that I recommend for different areas of life.
- Good: Business, Leisure and Family
- Best: Family, Personal, Professional, Spiritual and Community.
BABY STEPS
Keep your goals attainable or you will miss the mark.
- Good: “I will attain a million page views in Triond by January.”
- Best: “I will attain one thousand page views by January the 9th, 2009, at 9pm
TALLY IT UP
When the nominated date arrives then tally up the results.
- Good: 3/5 attained
- Best: 5/5 won!
Setting goals is like riding a bicycle, driving and dining – it’s automatic and you really can attain your dreams this way.
Good luck.

That is a good way to look at it if you have a very good paying job to pay for that house. If not better plan on a smaller house. Just kidding, very well said. Best luck, Ruby
