Seven Ways to Keep Yourself Away From Getting Angry
Getting rid of your anger with story from author on how he did that.
Ever heard of incredible “HULK”. Yeah, everyone knows who he is and everyone knows how he controls his excitement. He calms himself in the time of turbulence but when excitement gets beyond his limits, he becomes huge and dangerous and gets into killing spree. So such in a way our anger comes out at once, creating havoc’s, chaos and crisis where one becomes embarrassed after the activity. As saying goes “Regret comes after the action.”
Let me tell you my story of how terrible person I was. It was in the year 2006 when I was posted in a place where it was for the first time that any forestry personal was placed, with two forest guard and two assistant village helpers. I was freshly graduated Range Officer. I was utterly sincere. I had promised myself that I will serve my country with full dedication and royalty. The rules and regulation book gave me the direction to solve any cases that was faced but disadvantages of being 100% sincere was also like climbing down the ladder. People started hating me because I always penalized them for cutting trees which was fell without marking, debarking and girdling. The villagers do not hate the laws but hate the person enforcing the laws. This made me isolated almost all the time. My smoking doubled. I smoked 20 pieces a day. I began hating the public and my seniors. My thinking towards them was always negative. There upon whenever someone was caught acting against the law I scolded them and penalized them. I scolded my staff all the time if they don’t report any activities to me. I hate the seniors when they neglect my reports and don’t take actions. I punched to my staff and warn them with my service gun. Everyone feared me and in a year’s time illegal activities within my jurisdiction drastically decreased but my loneliness increases which add on to increase my anger.
Once, our boss called me into his chamber. He said a group of people had visited his office informing about my harassment to the villagers. He gave some advice just like my parents. I came out of the office and began to realize that I have been so mean to the farmers. I realize that even if they were wrong I could have penalized them but in an affectionate manner. From that onwards I began t divert myself from the previous life. I knew relationship was more important that anything in the world. I began to read many books on how to keep calm and cool.
So what I started doing to keep myself calm and what you should if you think you are not a polite person:
- Pray every morning and evening to keep mentally fit and pure.
- Always try to avoid those people with negative thoughts and who uses aggressive words.
- If ever you get involve in quarrel. Try to keep short.
- Meditate for 10minutes a day.
- Keep yourself busy by doing household chores in the weekends and holidays.
- Spent most of the time learning, listening and reading.
- Use few and effective words during conversation and respect individual privacy.
Following the above made me feel like a human.
Continuing with my story, I requested for a transfer which was approved. Now I work as a Forest Extension agent and I am happily married with little or no anger problem. I do not say that you shouldn’t be working sincerely but sincere work should be accompanied by lots of courtesy. I quit smoking and I have lots of friends now. Please do not waste your life by getting annoyed on trivial things. Be happy.
