Six Ways to Regain Balance When You Life is Spinning Out of Control

Today more and more people are complaining that they feel as if their lives are spinning out of control. They are busy, exhausted, anxious, fearful and depressed. Consequently they lose their zest for life, interest in their jobs and the motivation to accomplish the simplest goals. It is possible to regain your balance and resume some measure of control.

If you’re hovering somewhere in the above scenario, you can find a happy balance and learn to love and enjoy your work and your life, and find renewed passion to pursue your cherished dreams. Incorporate the following advice into your life and you will regain the balance to navigate your way through everything you do on a daily basis.

1. Establish a personal morning routine. I know how frustrating it can to live under the get-up-and-get-cracking whip of the morning alarm. After a while, it creates a de-motivated mindset and sets the tone of your day. You can ease into your day with a better frame of mind if you establish a personal morning routine to help you transition from your own world while asleep to the world where everyone is clamouring for your undivided attention and your most productive efforts.

You alone know the workings of your life. Identify the activities, rituals or practices that you can adopt. They should awaken your mind, feed your soul, and open your heart. Choose the one or two that you can perform in a short period of time but still derive the maximum benefits without feeling cheated. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it is your choice and it calls you gently each morning and inspires you to get to it eagerly.

2. Re-do your to-do list. A to-do list is a day, time and life management tool. Regrettably a to-do list can take over your life and manage you instead. If you find that you cannot make a decision or be spontaneous even on your off days, if you can barely breathe without checking your to-do list, it is time to take back control.

Weed out the tasks on your list that are unrealistic, counter-productive and keeping you from spending quality time with your family, your friends, your hobbies and yourself. If you feel you must, schedule “Be spontaneous” or “Forget the to-do list” on your to-do list and do just that.

3. Take a break. Are you so in rhythm with the treadmill of your life that stopping for a break is not an option? Regardless how important your work is or how much you enjoy your job you will crash and burn if you don’t take regular breaks. You might be so focused on your priorities, goals you want to achieve and working to accomplish your life’s dream. But that doesn’t mean you have to neglect taking time to rest and replenish your spent energies.
