Staying Positive in a Negative World
Today’s world seems to be more negative than positive. World itself, however, is neither positive nor negative. It’s upon us how we decide to perceive it. Also, we are partially responsible for other people’s attitude as our actions will often influence their lives too.
So, now you know how you can enhance your surroundings to help you stay positive. However, it is not all that matters. You should also change your own perception of the world.
Look for the positive in everything
There is something positive in every situation and in everyone. Try to identify what it is and focus on it. Even a failure in work or splitting up with your partner has something positive in it. Focusing on that positive aspect of the event will surely help you stay positive. It will also result into a different, usually better, solution as you will act by your brain, not feelings. Acting according to your initial feelings might lead to a very negative result. Anyway, it will in no way help you overcome the negative situation. That can only be done by staying positive.
Enjoy the good moments
Do not take everything pleasurable for granted. Try to enjoy pleasurable things as much as you can. Keep them in mind as a nice memory afterwards. You will then look forward to repeating that certain situation or action. For example, if you enjoyed talking to someone, remember it. Then you should gain positive attitude every time you are about to meet that person. Another way to stay positive is to treat yourself to something you like after an unpleasant task you have to perform. Looking forward to that reward will surely improve your mood during the unpleasant situation too.
Calm down
This is particularly important as we live in a hurry. Stress of everyday life is overwhelming. Stop for a moment and start thinking. Many of the things which stress you can be avoided even though you think they cannot. Stop chasing all the things society forces upon you and staying positive will become much easier. Instead, decide what is important for you yourself.
Laugh
A funny moment often comes around. Feel free to laugh whenever that happens. It is much easier to stay positive with a smile at your face. Your laughter might even cheer other people up.
Set realistic goals
Setting realistic goals is also of vital importance. Failing in achieving your goals will evoke a negative thinking most of the time. However, being able to achieve your goals will inspire a positive thinker inside you. You will feel better about yourself.
To conclude, staying positive is not that hard. If you live in a negative environment, then change is all that is needed. You need to change both, your behavior towards others and your priorities in life. By helpful and polite to other, so that they will behave the same towards you. Focus on things you can achieve, enjoying the good moments and making good friends. Also, never feel ashamed to laugh when appropriate. None of these things is less important than others. Only the right attitude will help you stay positive in a negative world.

Society is very negative. People are threatened by others success and ambition. I see it all the time and have even worked around other haters. If you have confidence, they will try to tear you down. For some reason, confidence is perceived as arrogance to some people. Well, who cares what they think? There will always be haters and people jealous of you. the key is to ignore them and keep it moving.
