Success Comes in Cans
What do you want out of life? Where do you want to be in five, ten, or even twenty years time? Sometimes reaching your goals may seem impossible. Here are some tips to help make success more accessible.
Think Big, Dare to Dream
“Aim for the moon. If you miss you may hit a star.” – W. Clement Stone
Never settle for second best. Think of what you want and go for it. If you don’t try, you will never know. Isn’t it better to fail, than to never even try in the first place?
Stay Motivated
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” -Thomas Alva Edison
It is not going to be easy, but you can do it if you remain motivated. Even when it seems impossible, keep going. Remind yourself why you are doing it in the first place and look back over successes you have already had.
Be Patient
“The secret to success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching.” – Dennis Green
Rome wasn’t built in a day. Whatever your goal is, it is going to take time, so try breaking it down into smaller goals and most importantly don’t give up! Nothing worth having is ever easy!
Be Passionate
“I’d rather be a failure at something I love, than a success at something I hate.” – George Burns
You have got to enjoy what you are doing and be prepared to put in 100%. You cannot halfheartedly make a success of something. You really have to give it your all, so it is important to figure out carefully what you want. It might help to write down what is important to you and work from there.
Realize your Potential
“Whether you think you can, or think you can’t. You’re right.” – Henry Ford
Believe in yourself. If you don’t, who will? With confidence and determination, there is NOTHING you cannot achieve!
Don’t Look Back
“Failure is the condiment that gives success it’s flavor.” – Truman Capote
Learn from mistakes you make along the way, but don’t dwell on them. Thomas Edison had to learn this. When creating the incandescent light bulb, it took him 10,000 attempts before he got it right.
Don’t Take Shortcuts
“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.” – Beverley Sills
If something is worth doing, it is worth doing well. Don’t cut corners, it won’t pay. To get to where you want to be, will take a lot of hard work, but imagine how it is worth it!
Attitude
“Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” – Winston Churchill
Think positive. Seeing the glass as half full will mean you can turn any situation into a good one. You will feel better, have more energy and therefore have more chance of succeeding.
Have Fun
“People rarely succeed, unless they have fun in what they are doing.” Dale Carnegie
Have fun. Enjoy what you do. Develop a sense of humour. Laugh at yourself and don’t take life, or yourself, too seriously.
