Success Has Its Own Key: Flexibility
In life, learn to be flexible.

If there was ever a poll to find the most common complain of humankind, the most probable answer could be, “Life is unfair”. And most of earth’s populace will readily agree. Life has a weird habit of not granting exactly what we so desperately seem to be seeking. Frustration, depression, and a variety of negative emotions stem for this very soil of unfair life.
But have we ever wondered that life might not be the real culprit. It might very well be the other way round? The culprit might be us-the lives that live this life. Life cannot be contorted to fix your desires. It is you, the liver who has to contort. “In life, learn to be flexible”. This one sentence changed my life forever. I could suddenly see what a big fool I had been. Life ever since has been much more bearable.
- Learn to bend:
People feel it is a prestige issue to bend. They would rather break. We have always worshipped heroes. But keeping that ego behind you instead of in the front can have unlimited advantages. Learn to bend. Learn to surrender. There is nothing wrong in it. Winners never lose and never surrender is stuff that movies are made up of. Real life is about survival, love and compassion. Give up in a fight every once in a while. Let your opponent enjoy success at your expense. You will only earn more respect.
- Learn to stretch:
Stretching is such an integral part of our life, isn’t it? It’s the very first thing we do when we get up in the morning. And strangely, it is the very last thing we do before we wind up for the day. So why not stretch in life? Reach out once in a while to do that extra bit. And life will seem so much more satisfying. Could be a social cause, a hobby or even support for a friend or a colleague. A nice stretch every now and then is bound to make life a teeny weeny bit fair.
- Learn to contort:
We have bent and we have stretched. Now it is time to contort. Life will twist you every once in a while. If you think life is unfair, it will feel like torture. Accept it and try to enjoy the challenge and it will feel like yoga. Once you are through you will feel much more energetic and driven. Do not fear change and never stick to the normal routine. Every change in the daily routine is bound to leave a bitter taste. No worries. Look at it as a challenge. Fit in the new role that life has to offer and do the things you are supposed to do. The eponymous statement uttered by Lord Krishna in his advice to Arjuna in the Bhagwad Gita sums it all up. “Carry out your duties without thinking about the results.”
- Life or something like that:
Volumes and volumes have been written about making life more fruitful. Writers have managed to get them sea facing bungalows vending their wares of life. And we gobble them up. We demand more. We gulp them down too. And they buy islands. The question is: Can life be lived as per one’s rules? The answer is simpler. No. You have to live life according to life’s rules. Learn to be flexible and you will see the changes that take place in your life. Learn to fit into life’s mould, melt, contort and be the very depiction of life. Life will be much more fulfilling if not very rewarding. Try it.
