Success with Time Management 1: Psychology of Good Time Management 1

Methods for creating the right mindset, beliefs, and subconscious behaviors that will help you get started.

Make an image of yourself being very good at managing your time, being organized and being effective with your time. You can do all sorts of things to make this image feel more powerful, such as making the image very larger and bright and maybe you have a thunderous voice. This does not have to be realistic; it just needs the emotional and subconscious responses you’re looking for. Now for the important part, take that image of yourself and drop it over yourself so that now you are experiencing everything form the perspective of being good at managing you time, being organized and being effective with your time. It is very important to get a first person perspective. A good time to do visualizations is to practice before you go to bed, but it I find this technique had a very instantaneous effect.

Model someone you know is really good at time management. Think of what they would do to manage their time. Act the part of someone who is well organized, efficient and effective. In NLP they have a saying, “fake it until you make it.” If you do take the actions that are consistent with the mindset and beliefs you desire your mindset and beliefs will follow. Lead by example and see your self as the person others will look to as a good example of excellent time management.

Tips for Success

Believe that you will become a master at managing you time. There is a direct relationship between your beliefs and your realities. Your believes act as filters and guides for the information you receive and the actions you take. It takes 21days to for the habitual subconscious patterns to take hold. So you it will take about 21 days of practice and repetition for these techniques to be accepted by the subconscious to produce lasting change. You are still able to get benefit from the techniques, but this will help make these techniques into habits. Promise yourself that you will become excellent at managing you time. Make a promise to other people. The fact that you know that they will be watching you will motivate you to do your best and stick with it. Start off with a strong effort and don’t rationalize being distracted or slacking off. There is something to be said for starting out strong and taking action on your desires.
