Ten Disturbing Double Standards with Men and Women

There are a lot of double standards involving men and women. Most are very unfair to say the least, but they are commonly held by society.

Men and women are different. I know, I’m breaking new ground right here. Still the fact is that men and women in certain situations have different situations that are perceived rather differently. Society has allowed for a lot of sick and twisted double standards, involving men and women. Some are rather more of a light hearted tone, but there are some that do have a rather dark double standard. Here are ten double standards with men and women commonly held by society, often very wrongly.

1) When a woman sleeps with more than one man, she’s a slut. When a man sleeps with more than one woman, he’s a stud. A man is never a virgin and a woman should always be a virgin.

2) When a man gets angry, he has serious anger management problems. When a woman gets angry, it must be that wacky PMS.

3) When a woman does things that men are normally interested in, she’s cool and unique. When a man does things that women normally do, he’s gay.

4) When a woman wears clothes associated with men, she’s just a bit of a tomboy. If a man wears clothes that are normally associated with women, he’s gay.

5) When a man beats up a woman, its a horrific crime, a brutal assault, and rightfully so. When a woman beats up a man, than he’s a sissy and we all laugh at him.

6) If a woman doesn’t have a job no matter what reason, than its to be expected, as they should take care of the house and the children. If a man doesn’t have a job, no matter the reasons, then he must be a deadbeat.

7) If a female teacher sleeps with her male student, then that’s one lucky boy. If a male teacher sleeps with his female student, then he’s a perverted bastard, who deserves to have his penis sliced off and fed to piranhas.

8) If a father neglects or abuses his children, that’s awful, but its not that shocking. If a woman neglects or abuses her children, then she’s worse than Hitler.

9) If a man rapes a woman, its judged to be the horrific, vile thing that it truly is. If a woman rapes a man, he obviously was willing.

10) If a man shows emotions, there must be something wrong with him. If a woman doesn’t show emotions, then there must be something wrong with her.

You are right about these. I could add a few more.
There are people and organisations working to educate society. I know in Jamaica, the same non-profits that work with women who suffer violence, try to educate people that violence-sexual or otherwise, by women against men, is also wrong.
