Ten Things You Can Do to Make Your Day Better

Take these steps towards having a stress-free day!

  1. Wake up a little earlier in the morning and allow yourself ample time to get ready for the day
  2. Treat yourself a little, don’t just run out the door with a bagel in one hand.
  3. Make a quick CD of 15 songs you’re feeling for the day, and play it in the car, on the bus, or at the gym!
  4. Do a check list in your brain at the door (keys, wallet, phone, etc.) that way you’ll be sure to get off to a good start
  5. When you walk outside, smile and say hello to the first person you see, because chances are they’ll smile back
  6. Forgive someone that you are in an argument with. Step back and look at it from both points of view. Is it really about who’s right or wrong? Is it an opinion? Argue both sides on a sheet of paper torn in half and share it with that person.
  7. Don’t forget to smile! It really is contagious.
  8. Go out of your way to help someone you barely know, because giving is a gift in itself
  9. Feel good about yourself. Look in the mirror and say, “I am ___,” or “I want to be ____.” Don’t spend time focusing on what you’re not.
  10. Do something out of the ordinary that doesn’t cost money. Ie. Clean out your sock drawer, go sit down outside and read a book, make a castle in the kitchen with the recyclables, go for a walk, pick up your phone and call someone that you haven’t spoken to in a while.
