The Condition and Role of the Mind
The whole concept is to make one understand about how the art of controlling the eyes, heart and mind will help at obtaining an abiding peace in life.
The role of the mind is to awaken the inner forces of a person. In other words, a sound brain helps one to stay in consciousness and also to maintain a clear conscience. Again, a healthy brain enables a person to become aware of the surrounding atmospheres, the developments that take place in one’s circle of movements and the attitudes and reactions of his familiar and unfamiliar people all of which put together, the mind stores the knowledge for its proper utilization at the appropriate occasions.
While the decision-making process is attributable to the conscious mind, experiencing the emerging trend as such is the exclusive role of the heart. All the experiences are gone through by the heart as soon as anything is seen through the eyes. If anyone refuses to accept this undeniable fact, I am willing to substantiate it with an example. Whenever we sense some danger, the impact is immediately felt into our heart or at the pit of the stomach. Only afterwards it moves on to the mind. Or else, the heart appeals to the mind for preparing to face the emerging situations, depending upon their magnitude.
On the whole, it is an established fact that the mental faculties come to the rescue of the physical faculties as and hen the physical prowess unable to cop up with the ordeal. Normally, most of the issues find their solutions at the heart’s level, except mental work. The occasions to summon the brain power to deal with the day-to-day functioning in the sphere of life are rare, since the mind is summoned to intervene as and when the situation surpasses its monotonous nature. To this extent, the human mind is a very well protected source.
I strongly feel that only by exercising complete control over our physical faculties, it will be possible to control our mental faculties, as far as the conscious mind is concerned. Only when a rapid change is brought about in one’s living styles, or abnormal conditions are noticed to prevail, the sub-conscious mind is invited to interact. Incidentally, such state of affairs develop as and when our physical and mental faculties find it difficult to meet the set standards of a normal living, or when they fail to keep pace with the average requirements which are mandatory for leading a principled life. Those who have mastered the art of controlling their eyes, heart and mind will enjoy abiding pace in life.
