The First Rule of Holes: Stop Digging

Doing the same thing the same way over and over expecting a different outcome is insane. Change one little thing and watch the magic happen to transform your life.

Are you at a place in your life where you just don’t know what to do anymore?

Things just are not working out the way you want them to, no help is coming to pull you through to the other side and you are about to pull your hair and scream while jumping up and down.

I know the feeling. We’ve all been there. The important question is. “what do I do now”?

Let’s say you have been digging holes for the past twenty years. You are tired of digging holes. Holes cover your property and people are angry with you for digging holes in their yards. You’ve tried filling the holes up only to turn around and dig them out again.

The first rule of holes is STOP Digging!

It’s insane to continue doing the same things the same way and expect a different outcome. You know that doesn’t make any sense yet you continue day after day thinking the same thoughts, feeling the same feelings and experiencing what feels like a looped rerun of your life.

You’ve heard before that in order for things to change, you have to change something. So go ahead. Change something. Anything. It doesn’t matter what it is.. just change something.

Alter one little way of thinking and watch as just like magic how you feels begins to change. Soon after different things start showing up in your experience. New people arrive, new opportunities for advancement knock on the door of your life.

Changing one little thing and sticking with it for just a few weeks or a few months can major change the direction of your life.

The problem right now is you are in a habit of reaction. You’re not thinking your just reacting to life.

Something feels like or reminds you of something else and you go on automatic and just react. This is routine for you.

Take your one little change and stay with it. Practice that new way of thinking and feeling. Add another little change to that and after a while you have established a new pattern, a new habit and your life is changing as well.

You are the key. You are the power. Change is more than a possibility, it’s a given when you stay aware to what you want and move in that direction more often than you fall back into old habits.
