The Stress Affect
Don’t let stress affect your workout. Let your workout affect your stress.
Of all the billions and billions of people in the world, it’s crazy that no two people are exactly the same, right? Well it’s true. People are different in more ways than one, and one of those ways is the affect that stress has on us. Where some people retract into an isolated cocoon, some actually someone around for entertainment. Some shut down and can’t function, while some actually need it to thrive and work at their best potential. And where some nearly forget to eat, some eat non -stop to fight the nerves. Get where I’m going with this yet? I know you do! This week I want to attack the “attack of stress eating”.
To be exact, neither affect of stress on eating is good for you. Without some food, your body can’t function at 100%. With too much food, well we all know where that can lead. My advise is to try and recognize the reason you are reaching for that Snickers bar. If you are hungry, then yeah . . . don’t wait. But if you’re not, then wait, please. Stress can play all sorts of tricks on us, including making us think that we need to eat to feel better. Trust me, you will still be stressed after that Snickers bar. Maybe even more now because you have to stress about how you are going to get that extra weight off. One thing that I’ve been trying to do is exercise when I get too stressed, and guys . . . This actually does work. I feel GOOD when I’m done and that time allows me to think of possible solutions for my problem. Double win!! SO this week we’re going to try and not let stress control our bodies anymore than it already does. Good luck, everyone!
