Three Thing to Do to Relax

Tips on finding ways to relax.

In the ever increasing world of do this and do that, many have found it hard to relax. Ever sit up late at night and feel so pumped up about something? Well, so have I and many others. Finding ways to relax through out the day, or when you are trying to get your Zs is helpful to others, yourself and to your health. There seems to be a new study out every day that warns the public about being stressed out. Here are a few tips I can offer:

1. Find something that you truly enjoy. Just do something other that work and things you have to do. Whatever it is be passionate about it. Make is something that you can really get lost in. Learning a musical instrument, watching something engaging on TV, writing, or working out are all great stress relievers.

2. Find a way to calm yourself down when things seems overwhelming. Some may call this taking a depth breath, or meditation, but for our purposes that are the same thing. When things start to pill up and you can feel yourself shutting down, be able to go to your own place and escape for 30 to 90 seconds. Some people like to take the deep breath and let it out on a ten count, other like to picture a calming place, or a fond memory. Practice breathing meditation to get the feeling of your mind doing nothing. Just focus on breathing, and that all. Concentrate all of you energy on your natural way of breathing.

3. Take time to do nothing. Like George Carlin said, “Everyone should take three hours a day and stare out the window and daydream.” It can be amazing how good it can feel to sit and do nothing. Create a blocks of time within you week where you have nothing to do. Be useless. I know that this could be hard to do at first because it goes against what were are told as modernist that everything must be in a state of production. But, not having to be anywhere, know anybody, or do a damn thing is almost euphoric.

I hope that these tips help those who are on the verge. And by the way, don’t stress out if you can’t do all of the tips.
