Three Ways to Manage Time
Some tips on managing your hectic life.
Many people today in their hectic and modern lives forget to stop and smell the roses; others like myself forget how to even stop in the first place! Like many of you time for me is something I have very little of, yet I still manage to waste it left right and center. Here are some tips that I have learned and self taught myself so that I can stop and smell the roses.
1. Find a way to organise your time
Find some way to organise your time, doesn’t matter what you do, just find the method that is the easiest for you. Some people like to keep planners; they can write their work schedule or their entire day schedule quite handy if you ask me. Other people such as myself like to use their cell phones or computers to schedule their day with. The best way to find out what kind of scheduling technique is best for you is to think about what you enjoy the most. I enjoy technology and computers, others enjoy books and reading, and other people enjoy just thinking. Nothing is absurd as long as it works well for you!
Some tips when using a scheduler, these are more or less guidelines and may not work for you:
Always leave time between activities; always leave a lot of wiggle room.
The schedule you make is not law but is more or less a guideline for your day.
Try to use that will power, they schedule may not be law but it is always good to sometimes follow them!
You have your entire life in front of you why rush it? Life is longer then some people think and the longer you think life is the longer it can seem. Again there is nothing wrong with disowning your schedule for a little while as long as you don’t get carried away!
2. How to plan your time out
Everyone manages time differently; everyone does work in different ways. Some people like to leave everything to the last moment. Others like to do it when they first have the chance to do it. Or some people like to do it right in the middle. If you are like me and still unaware of how you like to work then do what I do and always try to do things once you get them. By doing work when you first get it you can finish it and you can feel like you have more time on your hands. For some people though by doing work first off they might lose their drive to finish the work well. Some people like to do work when it is the last moment. By leaving work to the last moment you will have more of a drive to do better and to get it done. The problem with this method is that you may feel like you have less time because you’re always thinking that you should work on it. The best method in my opinion is to break the work up then do the most time consuming thing first, do the semi-important things in the middle, and to do the quickest and easiest thing last. Also remember to always take breaks but to make sure you go back to the work! You make think that it would take longer but in reality it makes it seem shorter and easier.
