Tips for Every Day Living
- Anxiety: get an instant facial who needs a spa? Close your eyes and with your fingertips rub your face from temples downward in gentle circular motions to relieve anxiety. A bonus it also helps prevent little lines on your face.
- Vitamin C: if you are feeling on edge try an orange juice smoothie or add lemon to your tea. Vitamin C has been proven to alleviate anxiety. The fresh citrus aroma will center you.
- Stretch: studies show merely bending down to touch your toes can be a powerful tension buster by increasing blood flow to your brain. Flushing your whole system with feel good endorphins.
- Snack: when you are going nuts: literally eat nuts. Peanuts, almonds and pecans are loaded with B-complex vitamins that can help you feel well a little less nutty.
- Hate to work out? Door squats : securely close a door and stand an arm’s distance away. With your feet apart and slightly wider than your hips, hold the doorknob with both hands, Contact your abs and rear end while slowly bending your knees. Squat down until your thighs are parallel to the floor. Keep your knees directly over ankles. Return to standing, squeezing your rear as you lift up. Do 2 sets of 12 to 15 reps.
- Under age 50? Aim to get about 18mg. of iron a day or simply eat three to four ounces of lean red meat about three times a week.
