Tips to Avoid Impulse Buying

Here are some tips to avoid impulse spending.

If your partner often complains that you spend too much money.

If you are surprised each month when your credit card bill arrives at how much more you charged than you thought you had.

If you have shoes and clothes in your closet that you never wear ever since you buy them.

If you buy things you didn’t know you wanted until you saw them in the display shelf.

Yes you are an impulse buyer! This is not a good thing. You have to take an action before it’s too late. Being an impulse buyer could prevent you from saving for the more important things like a house and lot, a new car, educational plan for your children, and many more. It will not only hurt your pockets but your relationship as well. So here are some tips to avoid impulse spending.

  • Set some financial goals and avoid buying items that you will not be using in the long run
  • Separate your needs from your wants
  • Make a list of items or products you will need to buy when you go shopping. Take only enough cash and a little spare. Leave your credit cards at home.
  • If you see something you really need, give yourself a cooling-off period to think if you really need it
  • Always make a plan when buying a product. Think of the more important things you could buy if you don’t buy a certain item. Think of the future.

If you follow these simple things, you can mend your financial problems and your relationships.

Great tips for the responsible, and umm, I think that’s why they impulsively buy…It’s contradictory to discipline in spending…(smile). Just kidding with you a little. Princess, you did a wonderful job. Keep on bringing the good articles.

    Excellent!
