How to deal with every day stress associated with the work place.
A fellow writer gave me a wonderful idea to help me cope with the daily stresses of dealing with an absolute idiot we all call a co-worker. In every field you come across the one that just irritates you and can make the working environment a task in itself, as you try your best not to blow up at him/her, and possibly cause him/her bodily harm, for there is that possibility of you having to do time for assaulting someone who is simply beneath your standards and always will be.
Mine I can honestly say is the co-worker from hell. The one that comes in every morning after his/her daily routine of praying in church yet comes in with an attitude. The one that pretends to be your friend yet is just fishing for information he/she can share with anyone who would listen, or the one that seems to know it all yet can’t write a sentence to save his/her life. The loud mouth who even intimidates the manager you can’t turn to because he/she is scared of his/her mouth so he/she chooses to let him/her be.
Everyone has or has had a co-worker who can literally turn your guts inside out with the hypocrisy that pores out of them so naturally you can taste the vile in your mouth every time they speak. It is such a pain to have to go in every morning and wonder what will happen today to either bring you to hate your job, your co-worker and your life. The immaturity level in the office, with the gossip, thrashing and backstabbing that goes on, on a daily basis is straight out of high school, yet at least then you can say, “Meet me in the yard after school,” and it will all be settled, or you would just feel good about dragging their sorry butt around the lot.
As you get older the peer pressure intensifies and the adults can be just as conniving and deceitful as the teenagers, only with much more ease and experience. You see the buttons that read “I am with Idiot,” and a smile comes across your face because the co-worker’s face in your mind is dead set in the center. You receive a Maxine email and laugh out loud at the mug on her desk that reads “Bitch” and once again that smile intensifies.
My way of dealing with my co-worker may differ each day. One day we may not speak, which is total bliss and on other’s you just have to stop and listen as they once again put their foot in their mouth or act the fool after having too many drinks during their lunch hour. It is amazingly compelling how no one sees the person for who they are, or if they do how easily they can look the other way. If you are a manager/supervisor, CEO or CFO and can’t see this person as a downfall to any company you are simply blind or stupid yourself. Where is that suggestion box when you need it and if it exists can I have first dib? Awe! the stresses are low and to vent is divine.
