Ways to Soothe Your Soul, Relax Your Mind, Rest Your Body

Everyone can benefit from setting aside a little time each day to restore both their physical, mental, and emotional strength.

  • Set aside some time each morning, evening or both for quiet moments of solitude.
  • Use this time for meditation and prayer.
  • Listen to a type of music that you find soothing or relaxing.
  • Read a pleasant novel, an inspiring book, or uplifting poetry.
  • Try writing your own poetry or start keeping a journal to record positive events,    dreams, and goals.
  • Browse through an artistically lovely magazine or book.
  • Paint, draw, or creatively express yourself in some way.  
  • Stoke a cat.  Relax to the sound of its purr.
  • Take a dog for a leisurely stroll. Hold a dog on your lap and feel the love it has to give.
  • Watch fish swimming in aquarium.
  • Snuggle up with the one you love.
  • Get up early and watch the sunrise. 
  • Pause during your busy schedule and enjoy a sunset.
  • Listen to the sound of water.  Place a tabletop fountain in your home.  Go sit by a lake, waterfall, or the ocean.
  • Enjoy a soothing cup of hot tea, cocoa, or coffee and rest both your body and mind.
