What Is a Dream?

by theinformer4u in Advice, June 10, 2009

Now everyone has a dream but what exactly is it?

A dream is caused by the experiences you had that day, possibly a few days back. Say you were riding your bike outside the day you had a dream, and you also were being chased by a man a few days back. Now your mind puts these two thoughts together and now in your dream your riding your bicycle and being chased by a man, and for some reason you cant pedal fast enough and get caught. A common nightmare scenario caused by the mind.

So a dream is like the idea of summing up everything you did that day into a nightmare or a “happy place” based on your feelings. It’s the bigger part of who we actually are inside, not bound by any limitations. We can do what we want and when we want to. That is the beauty of dreaming.

Now the scientific explanation is all nerves interact within your brain. The nerves interact through electric like signals. All of them putting your days thought together to make a subconscious image of your experiences while you sleep. So how come these dreams are sometimes so realistic. Its simple, your in a deeper sleep so your brain has more room to work while you are unconscious.

Tips on avoiding bad dreams…

  1. Never eat before you sleep, your whole digestive system is at work so you will be experiencing a troubled sleep.
  2. Be happy, your feelings affect your dreams!
  3. Make sure your bed is comfortable, if your sleeping painfully it can cause your mood to change while you sleep because the pain will be reflected through the nerves in your brain.

Good night!
