What to Do When the Internet is Down

Are you kidding? The internet is down? Alright then, here are some suggestions, if you are at home.

1. Check the connection behind the computer. Maybe the vigorous dusting around the back has dislodged the connection.
2. Call a friend and check if they have connection at their computer, could be that the problem is only at your computer
3. Wait a couple of minutes before trying to log in again, the server could be busy
4. Write an article, whilst waiting
5. Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea and catch up with your morning news on the television
6. Listen to the radio – get some inspiration and you can dance to the music too
7. Check the computer again. Internet still down? Pick up the remote and turn on the air-conditioning. Pick up a puzzle you’ve not completed and continue with it.
8. Bake a cake or a pie. Don’t know how to cook? Now is a good time to learn.
9. Go down to the shop and pick up a few things to make a different kind of sandwich for dinner
10. Check the computer again. Internet still down? Write another article, make it a long one.
11. Go for a bicycle ride round the park. Can’t find the bicycle? Never mind, go for a walk, bring the dog out for a walk as well.
12. See your neighbour outside? Go and chat with him, find out something new
13. Go for a movie. If you can, try to get some friends to go along with you. After that movie, you can go have a snack before heading for home.
14. Pick up the phone and call a friend or a couple of friends and chat with them
15. Got children? Do some art and craft with them. Older children? Find out the latest buzz in their school.
16. Clean the house (again!), who knows maybe after this round of cleaning, you might jiggle the connection again, and you can get connected
17. Go down to the store and get a book on sudoku puzzles
18. Take a nap
19. Check the computer again. Internet still down? Write an article entitled “What to do when the internet is down” so that when you get connected you can post 3 articles or more, depends on your output.
20. Take a rest and try again tomorrow
