What to Do When Your Wallet is Lost or Stolen
Lost or stolen wallet.

The first things that should be done are to file a police report. If your wallet or purse is lost or stolen someone will surly take the money out and enjoy it at your expense. Assuming there is cash in it. Unless there honest people. Then they will look you up and return your wallet or purse. Always put your wallet back in your pocket or purse when not in use no matter what you needed it for.
And if you had any kind of credit cards in your wallet then you will need to call your bank or banks even if it’s not open at the moment. Because most banks answering machines will give you the 1 (800) number to call and cancel your credit card. This way no one can swipe your card for credit at a convenient store or any other retail store.
For social security cards one must obtain a new one at the nearest social security administration office. If you don’t know how to find one then look it up on the internet. You can even go on line and pay for a new SSI card. But it is best to go and personally pick up a new SSI card. That way there is no mix up or scam pulled on you.
For spare keys that mite of been in the wallet then one must change out the lock or locks that the keys go to. So no one can get into your house, lock box, storage, safe, or personal belongings.
Of course you had your driver’s license in your wallet. Then you will have to go to the DMV to obtain a new one. Same as SSI card you can go and pick up a new one. This is best to do before you drive anywhere. Have a friend or family member drive you there so you don’t get pulled over trying to drive there yourself.
Family photo’s should be scanned and stored on a PC or laptop computer. So you will always be able to make copies to put in your wallet or purse..
