Why You Should Not Recycle Presents
Even though I’m an advocate of recycling presents, however there will be some people who oppose it. I can understand why they do not want to recycle their presents. Here are some of the reasons why they’d rather buy a brand new gift for their friends and family.
Offend the Giver
Some of us may feel that we might offend the person who gave the presents to us. What if that person comes around and ask how you liked the presents and how it had helped you so far? You might be too embarrassed to say that you have given them away. Worse still, you’re afraid that you might offend the giver. He may have taken the time to search for a nice present and nicely wrapping it up for you, and you feel bad for recycling the presents.
Sentimental Value
The presents may be of sentimental value to you, since it is given by someone you really love and treasure. Thus, you are not prepared to part with the present, no matter how much you like it or how useless it is to you. You just want to keep it for keepsake.
Future Use
You feel that you may not have any use for them now, but thought that it may still be of use to you later on. For instance, I have tonnes of stationery, given to me by my students when I used to be a teacher. I still keep all of them because I believe I will eventually use them in the future. But I really have accumulated a lot of them.
Presents should be Brand New
You feel that all presents you give away need to be brand new. It’s just your principle in life. At the same time, you expect the same too, from your givers. You tend to frown upon those people who recycle their presents as not being sincere.
Love Shopping
You simply love shopping! You love to scout for lovely items to be made into gifts. You love to find the best bargains for these presents. And you love wrapping each and every present you are going to give away. You simply love it all. You also can’t resist the buying impulse in an effort to find the perfect gift for that special person. So recycling presents is not in your vocabulary.
At the end of it all, it is really up to you. Whether you want to buy brand-new presents or recycle old ones, the choice is yours. It all depends on the budget and time you have, and teh principles you uphold. Happy giving!

I would always want to receive brand new.
It is ok if I would receive a recycled one, as long as I don’t know it is recycled.

I don’t mind at all recieving a recycles present. I don’t like to see things go to waste. If I recieve something I know I will never use I will give it to someone who will use it.
