Writers: Rejection is a Part of Being Successful

Prolific writers are gifted people who are constantly searching their minds and the world for new ideas. They allow their curious nature to thrive asking inexhaustible questions. They believe everything is important. They paint pictures, murals and lives, with the touch of a key stroke or the brush of pen to paper.

Some writers or aspiring writers often worry that they will not have enough to write about. Writer’s block is often a large fear. But, to overcome any fear, one must simply face it. Easier said than done, yes I know. But, if you want your dreams to come true you must take this advice. You must face your fears head on if you are to achieve anything in life that you truly want to.

As a writer, you might face rejections, critics, and people who do not believe in your abounding talent. How can others not see your genius? Yes, unfortunately there are just some people in this world who will just never “get” your message. Se la vie and such is life. Keep pursuing your dreams and vision despite their nay saying.

Even the ingenuity of the great J.K. Rowling was questioned by publishers who rejected her story. Even as she struggled writing the beginnings of the masterpiece that is Harry Potter, she had friends and loved ones telling her to get a real job. She struggled. She wrote notes as she traveled on bus to and from where ever she needed to be. She supported her children on food stamps. And, now she is the richest author in the world. She believed in her vision and her talent. That’s all you need to do.

So, continue to submit your stories and articles to various publications. Yes, sometimes the rejections or lack of feedback can feel a bit bruising to your ego, but it will happen. Even when you are successful, people will always have something to say about your work. People who are jealous and wish they were in your shoes, people who think they could have come up with a better idea, such is human nature. Do not let them stand in your way. They say such things because they are afraid to pursue their dreams. But, you can do anything you put your mind to. You have always been able to.

One day you will be able to speak with all the people you envision learning more from. Deepak Chopra, Oprah Winfrey, Brian Tracy, Donald Trump, J.K. Rowling – your list is probably unending. You will be as financially successful as you allow yourself to be. As Chopra so eloquently conveys in his ideas money is in constant flow; money is good and we all deserve to have it; you must believe that you deserve it.
