Your Mistakes are Precious Diamonds, Your Failures Gold, Don’t Waste a Single One of Them
Every wrong attempt disposed of is not a failure, it is a step forward toward reaching your goals and dreams. Life is one long succession of decisions and choices. Don’t allow fear of failure to paralyze you and keep you from reaching for success.
Are you going to fail in life? You bet! Are you going to make some wrong choices? Without a doubt you are. Searching for success in life is like mining for treasure, you’re goin to scoop up a heck of a lot more sand and gravel in your pan than diamonds but keep on scooping anyway because one tiny diamond will make it all worth it.
Thomas Edison did not look at his hundreds of failed attempts to create the light bulb as defeats, he chose to see them as having “discovered” hundreds of ways that did NOT create electricity. Each time you make a mistake, fail to reach your goal, or generally fall off the wagon in any area of life, you have a choice to make right then. You can choose to accept defeat, walk away feeling discouraged and frustrated, or you can make a conscience decision to consider it, as Thomas Edison did, “One more way that will not work in getting me to my goal”.
There are lessons to take away from every mistake and failure. Valuable lessons that, if applied, will yield great returns when it comes to navigating us around the same pitfalls and detours the next time we set our to reach our goal. If you are willing to learn from your mistakes, then they are not failures, they then become valuable life-lessons which will help you reach your goals and dreams in the future.
So today, choose to turn each mistake and failure into experiences and skills. Refuse to look at your life-glass half-empty, instead, see it as half-full your goals as half-reached already and with an attitude like this and some good ole perseverance and patience, you will soon be rejoicing at the finish-line of your dream.

I loved this. It is really inspirational and so true. I believe there really is a lesson to learn in everything. My sister always says that a mistake is just proof that you are trying.

I applause this article. I know so many people who are true pessimists and give up so easily. They don’t seem to realise that to achieve a success you have to go through a learning curve of trials and errors.

A very wise and insightful write. I couldn’t agree with you more that you have to believe and keep trying and learn from your mistakes. With every mistake lies a bit of knowledge. Great write, Vickie!

Great information, as usual. You have to believe in yourself and know that you are not perfect and there will be mistakes made, but you don’t have to give up because of them.

my mum keeps telling me that failures are not a big deal and no matter what happens, something good will come out of it. It’s just that I’m always paralyzed by my failures, I hope I can grow stronger and overcome this fear. THank you.

Excellent article, Vickie! And very inspirational. Failures often give us more knowledge, insight, and courage for the next time around. Those who aren’t afraid to fail often achieve more success because they take hold of opportunities more freely than others.

Another article that I am in 100% agreement with. It’s like Apollo 13…it was regarded as a successful failure. Failures are lessons…learn from it and move on. Well done.
