You’re Busted

Become a Lie Detector.

No matter how you put it, we’re all liars. And really, there is no cure for it. Most women would have mastered the art by the time they are half way through college.

However, don’t let the words fool you, there are several signs that indicate a liar’s mouth.

  1. Doesn’t exactly answer the question.
  2. Fidgety behavior.
  3. Unusually still. (Few body movements and gestures)
  4. Eager to skip of topic.
  5. Drags on about something irrelevant.
  6. Failure to keep eye contact.
  7. Stumbles when speaking.
  8. Gets sweaty
  9. Breathes more rapidly.
  10. Pleads innocent when not accused of being guilty.
  11. Usually the first one to say, “I didn’t do it!”
  12. Shaky voice.
  13. Muddles up his/her words and struggles to make sense.
  14. Touching or scratching his/her facial features.
  15. Delay of intended emotion.
  16. Bows his/her head before speaking and mumbles the words out.
  17. Plays with fingers.
  18. Goes red in the cheeks.
  19. An innocent person goes offensive; a guilty person will go defensive.
  20. Will place everyday objects like a coffee mug, pen etc – between the person who’s accusing him/her.
  21. Uses your words to answer the question. E.g: “Did you steal my pen?” “No I did not steal your pen.”
  22. Forgets to use contractions. E.g: says “I did not” instead of “I didn’t”
  23. Speaks in a monotone voice.
  24. Giggles, laughs about something serious. Tries to use humour to get him/herself out of a tough situation.

Remember, just because someone has ONE or TWO of these symptoms do not necessarily mean he/she is a liar. You may need specific evidence to back up your argument.

It’s a common habit…a few white lies never hurt though, especially when saving someones feelings.

I dont agree with you that girls all tell lies, i have found a lot of men lie too. I know when somebody lies to me because i have had it done by many, men and women. I dont tell lies because i feel its not worth it, to be a good liar you need a good memory and nobody has one of those. A white lie maybe if its to protect someones feelings, or if theres a surprise party waiting for them, but tell the truth is my motto. Thanks for sharing, and thats the truth.

Very interesting article! I do however think that men are equally capable of lying just like women. I know someone personally who has quite a few of these symptoms.
