How is Your Intuition

by Ruby Hawk in Advice, September 9, 2009

Many people have a highly developed form of intuition and it’s something to strive for.

In a highly developed form of intuition the person simply knows something he or she needs to know without knowing why. It might not be anything important or it might be a matter of life or death. You might first feel uncomfortable in the company you are in. if you stop and pay attention you might find you are in a bad situation that you need to get out of immediately, or it may be a cue that a friend who you thought had your best interest at heart is not the friend you thought they were.

The cues on a physical level are not always easy to comprehend but if you become attuned to you body you will notice your body responding in different ways to different people and situations. With some people you will feel warm and open, with others you might feel tense and on guard. If you are often tense and on guard it may be an unconscious fear that is preventing you from stepping out of your shadow and seeking new friends and possibilities. Learning to trust your body’s response is learning to trust your intuition. If so, the first step is to become aware of what it is you fear and set about to change the pattern.

On an emotional level, awakening intuition is on the same plane as developing self awareness. Liking or disliking someone with no apparent reason, or a sensing that something is not right is your intuition at work. the better you know yourself, the better able you are to make good decisions, such as getting to know someone better or wiping them off the slate. What is called, woman’s intuition , is intuition on the emotional level. The fact that men are said to be not as intuitive an women is because males are taught to repress their feelings. Little boys are taught not to cry or be emotional.

Being aware of your inner feelings contributes to your understanding of other people and yourself. The more you act on your intuitions the better your decisions will be. People who have not developed their intuition will ask about yours and will not be satisfied with your explanation. It’s impossible to give a rational, logical answer. It is a holistic awareness that includes internal and external sensitivity. Everyone has heard of someone who at the last minute refused to get on a plane and it crashes at sea. That person will never be able to explain the feeling that prompted her to stay off the plane, The more we learn to tune into our body and feelings, emotionally, and physically, the better and stronger our intuition will become. Which means living in harmony with our fellow man and making right decisions for the good of ourselves and others.

Interesting article. It seems I had better intuition when I was working than I have now.

I do everything on my intuition, and most of the time it’s right. I agree that being self aware in important, in order to make more informed judgements. Great article Ruby.

Very interesting article. I believe that everyone has this kind of intuition but most people don’t use, or develop it.

Sometimes I listen to the voice of intuition, when I do not have the time to think. To think of it, decisions that way proved better than what rational thinking would have brought. Intuition can be developed is something new to me.

Yes, intuition is a natural event that has occurred to everyone at specific times in their lives; the thing is to make it a conscious, practical event, so as we can use it when most needed. Learning to guess time before we look at the clock is a very good way to develop intuition. And so on, we could invent all kinds of practical ways to unfold that important side of the psyque. Very interesting. I must have been reacting to intuition all my life without realising it. A good article.

Great article Ruby. I have a very strong intuition that sometimes is so good that it does scare me. My husband and kids often say that they need to \”consult mom`s gut feelings \” before doing something. Very interesting piece.

thanks for pointing out how male intuition is stiffled at an early age.
I tend to have fairly good intuition but often notice it too late to change things.

Excellent article and very well-written. I have been told many times by different people that I have great intuition. I am very much in tune with my inner feelings and others around me as well. I always trust my gut- feeling and it has never failed.

This is a BRILLIANT article, I am actually impressed! I’ve always wondered about intuition and people don’t tell me that I have one but I do think that I have the ability to sense some things. There have been times when I’ve thought of certain things happening (like teachers at school asking me -out of 30 kids- a question I don’t know) and scarily, they do happen! I do like to work on intuition though, it is one of those gifts mankind has been blessed with. Good article with some amazing pictures.

I have really good intuition but I never know when its talking to me. Sometimes I get a feeling to look in a certain place (like on the ground) and voila there is money there…
I just have to be able to find a way to ASK my intuition where things are and have it answer.

You can not ’see’ outside of you, that which you fail to see
inside of you.Look within for that quiet spot and eventually
you will see with both your heart ,mind and eyes.

Good article, Ruby. I sometimes seem to know things before they happen. I don’t how if that is intuition or not but it has served me well over the years.

I have the ability to KNOW when I meet a genuinely nice person. I sort of get a ‘feeling’ that I can’t describe….I just know that this person is a good person. Funny.

my intuition is pretty decent, I always know when a guy is a good one or a bad one to date. (usually they end up being bad…just a gut feeling..that’s what happened with my recent ex..) great article… I think peoplehave better intuition than they think.

Intuition is an unexplainable process occurred whether you’re conscious or inconscious. This piece accommodates a useful insight for the readers to ponder upon. Great as usual, have my liked it.

Very good article Ruby! Studies have shown that trains that crash tend to have fewer passengers than normal. The only logical explanation for that is some people’s intuition.

Intuition is often our subconcious mind picking up on things we aren’t noticing conciously.
