In my latest book it is revealed how to live out your passion, this is an excerpt.

The saddest lives are lived by those who never fully realize their potential in this world, seemingly sleeping, continuing to struggle against the river’s flow, refusing to look deep inside where all of the answers truly are. We each came into this world in a state of joy, learning how to leave this behind, and forever reaching out to try to regain that which was lost. You and I are so much more than meets the eye, because we are filled with all that we need. You are complete as you are, in realizing you full potential you will lift the world up to greater heights. If you do not find you full worth you will have deprived the world of your greatness, in a sense leaving a void behind you that no other could ever fill. Fulfill your greatness and play your part, for in doing so you will help the entire world in ways beyond the imagination.

Ok, I don't hate these things but dang, they are annoying...

I hate the teen age years. I love my children, but can’t they somehow pass over the whole, ‘I know it all and Mom sucks’ phase?

I hate being so skinny. I am fairly tall and weigh only 104 pounds. People always get tips on how to lose weight and look good, but what about me? There in no way to make a stick look nice.

I hate how people assume that I am ill because I am skinny, people have actually asked me if I make myself puke or if I starve myself! OOH, this is so irritating! I don’t ask obese people is they ate too much or sat around too much!

I hate how eveyone I know thinks that I am a geek. So what, I like to read, are they jealous or what?

I hate house breaking puppies. Actually, I hate when some one else steps in the doo doo because I am the only one who apparently can smell. And, I am the only that will clean it up and put the pup outdoors. I also hate how everyone acts like it is my job to clean up the accidents, even if they see the doo doo, they won’t clean it, they will yell “Mom, there’s doggie doo….”

I hate how male cats like to pee on plastic. What the heck is the deal with that? Can’t they pee on a tree like dogs?

I hate how my cat leaves dead creatures with their guts hanging out, under my dining room table!

Ok, enough ranting this morning… if you can’t tell, this has not been one of my best mornings…..

This is about the Self inspiration and motivation and how it thinks.....

The moment when you just don’t have desire for anything. You sleep with no excitement for tomorrow, with no plans for tomorrow. You feel indifferent..something like all the subjects are just out for your interest. You wake-up in the morning.. ..may feel fresh for a while but after sometime you have nothing new to do in your life beside what you have in your daily schedule.
As you lack activities of your enthusiasm , u remain unmotivated. You will not find anything inspring that enhance your grace. The dullness in your activities will numb your mind and curtain your eyes. You do not see newness in anything. For you even the beautiful sunrise is just the one another daily act of the Sun. No amusements …no sympathys!!

You go for a work which was your keen interest someday but now it is just a part of your daily routine. You are doing because you have to.. you have to complete your part of responsibility. You will not put any extra effort to make your work a beautiful duty. You act sincere.. you act punctual ..So.. may seem sincere but actually you are not because you are not doing with all your heart . You feel irritation on minor mishaps. On trying to remind self when it was last time you laugh out loud ??…You stuck ..You realize it was a day _long time ago…or possibly you may not remember. Within your circle (a bunch of people around, whom u see daily) u respond, but actually stay unconcern. No worries for no one. You often refuse to hangout with friends. When you are all alone you keep thinking about something which seems very important to you. ..then in the same pace as yesterday one another day ends.
It is not your fault, its because you have make your days so.. Among the pirated desires you fail to recognize your true desires. True desires are those which were longing in you from beginning. Ask yourself am I enjoying what I m doing?? It is not compulsory that every single activity of yours must be joyful.. but atleast a day do one thing that symbolize the true “You”.Done with that , you feel content. Don’t let your desires die. Enjoy every drip of time. To practice enjoyment in the works you do..start doing the activities you truly love to do. Such activites which brings smile on your face, which lightens your heart, which makes you laugh …doing this you will inspire yourself. You will help yourself to be “You”. Then, you can discover your true nature ..uniqueness which generally everybody have.
It is true … in a whole sense of view each of days cannot be drastically different…You require to do all tasks which lies within your circle of priority.. But with self inspiration it is like living each new day with slightly new way. Making a difference in your tiny acts. The way you response other, your sense of humour, your conducts, your care and share to the loved ones , changing the taste of your food….anything!!!!! All this happens when you feel the surroundings by your heart…And to feel at heart u should live. To live doesn’t mean to breathe only. Clever mind will never let you to appreciate your innocent heart… Default function of mind is to think…and thinking means either you dive in your past or fly in the future…To live is living in the moment.
Sometimes it is also a case… you may not be able to ping your actual desires !!!!!!inspired by OSHO

Sustainable Success

Unless you get a windfall, such as inheritance or lottery, then success must be redeemed at a price that is quite expensive. Your high school, extra time to prepare, and continuously strive, before success came. And that's not a hundred percent guarantee of success will come.

When you succeed, saying “the higher, the more the wind” would apply. Your time will be more narrow, maybe even in envy. Furthermore, maintaining the success will be far more difficult than to achieve it. Corporate world is more complex than the individual level. The success of a company that would lure new competitors trying to steal your market. Not only that, imitation or “me-too” strategy common to fast to steal success.

Jealousy is not only arise from the competition, your customers also become “hate but misses”. They hate to see the company succeed in a long time, especially when success leads to domination. They will look for and sympathize with the “underdog”. Simply put, when your corporate success, everybody will be Gunning at you. Illustration teraksir success in the high tech industry is Google.com. Maybe you’re tired of reading or hearing their success stories in 2005. But that’s the reality of life. Winners always get major media coverage.

In 2005, the stock rocketed Google.com already exceeded U.S. $ 400/lembar share, boosted by a quite remarkable increase of income, especially income-targeted ad, which has exceeded billions of dollars. Google.com is considered gold mine, furthermore regarded as the savior of the Internet advertising industry that nearly sank due to the bubble economy.

The question is, whether the success of Google.com is sustainable or just a part of the positive spark in ekonnomi trend?, Frankly only time can answer. Regardless of the fate of Google.com, there are some principles of sustainable success, if we take the time to look at the history and experience.

Sustainable principles of success

Principle first, “willing umbrella before it rains”. Life is a wheel that rotates is a short statement that describes the honesty. The success of this day will not last long, unless we prepare ourselves for tomorrow’s success. Microsoft for example, “the King” was known to have a very strong liquidity reserves, even reputedly the largest in the world. This reserve makes Microsoft a lot of flexibility to tap into new opportunities. Moved from the operating system and office application, Microsoft is now entered into the games industry, both hardware and content, network and database applications, internet, and the last application for mobile. The new battlefield, making Microsoft to survive as the world’s largest companies today, even though many competitors in the competition was waiting for his downfall.
The second principle, winning mentality. Often perusahaanmendapatkan lucky breaks and sudden success. But, just perusahaanyang winning mentality that can sustain success when a lucky break already fading. Company who minded loser will be trapped in the behavior and nonefektif nonefisien.
The third principle, adaptive behavior. Maybe you’re tired of reading and hearing the word adaptive, but they are. Many companies have been buried or the target of hostile take-over due to stubborn to change. Digital Instrument, Wang Laboratories, or Webvan, for example high-tech enterprise which is now in name. Subtainable success principles are not as complicated as imagined. For what is complicated, an important application.

• Henry Ford

Inventor of the first car, he originally started fives different businesses which all failed and let him broke. He later founded Ford motors.

• Bill Gates

Dropped out of Harvard, first business ended as a failure. Doesn’t seem like a road to success does it? Well now he’s worth $61 billion.

• R.H. Macy

Attempted to make seven businesses which all failed before opening Macy’s in New York. I guess eighth times a charm?

• Walt Disney

Fired from a newspaper because “He lacked imagination and had no good ideas,” and later failed at starting several businesses. His name now is known by basically everyone.

• Charles Schultz

Every comic strip he ever made denied by his school’s newspaper, and even denied by Disney himself! Didn’t look to good for future creator of the beloved Peanuts crew.

• Isaac Newton

Failed in school and then stuck in charge of his family’s farm. Failed at that, so his uncle took over and sent him off to Cambridge where he became the genius known today.

• Albert Einstein

Didn’t speak until he was four, didn’t read until he was seven, an later denied to Zurich Polytechnic School. Oh and his parents thought he was going to be disabled and antisocial.

• Elvis Presley

He wasn’t always the King. After one performance he was told “You ain’t going nowhere, son. You ought to go back to driving a truck.” I guess he showed him.

•Harland David Sanders

Better known as Colonel Sanders of KFC. Had his famous chicken recipe denied 1,009 times until a recipe accepted it.

• Thomas Edison

Told he was “too stupid to learn anything” and then fired from his first two jobs. Later failed 1,000 times to make a lightbulb until he finally got it right.

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results.

A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful result.

Whatever the mind expects, it finds.

Not everyone accepts or believes in positive thinking. Some consider the subject as just nonsense, and others scoff at people who believe and accept it. Among the people who accept it, not many know how to use it effectively to get results. Yet, it seems that many are becoming attracted to this subject, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it. This is a subject that is gaining popularity.

It is quite common to hear people say: “Think positive!”, to someone who feels down and worried. Most people do not take these words seriously, as they do not know what they really mean, or do not consider them as useful and effective. How many people do you know, who stop to think what the power of positive thinking means?

The following story illustrates how this power works:

Allan applied for a new job, but as his self-esteem was low, and he considered himself as a failure and unworthy of success, he was sure that he was not going to get the job. He had a negative attitude towards himself, and believed that the other applicants were better and more qualified than him. Allan manifested this attitude, due to his negative past experiences with job interviews.

His mind was filled with negative thoughts and fears concerning the job for the whole week before the job interview. He was sure he would be rejected. On the day of the interview he got up late, and to his horror he discovered that the shirt he had planned to wear was dirty, and the other one needed ironing. As it was already too late, he went out wearing a shirt full of wrinkles.

During the interview he was tense, displayed a negative attitude, worried about his shirt, and felt hungry because he did not have enough time to eat breakfast. All this distracted his mind and made it difficult for him to focus on the interview. His overall behavior made a bad impression, and consequently he materialized his fear and did not get the job.

Jim applied for the same job too, but approached the matter in a different way. He was sure that he was going to get the job. During the week preceding the interview he often visualized himself making a good impression and getting the job.

In the evening before the interview he prepared the clothes he was going to wear, and went to sleep a little earlier. On day of the interview he woke up earlier than usual, and had ample time to eat breakfast, and then to arrive to the interview before the scheduled time.

He got the job because he made a good impression. He had also of course, the proper qualifications for the job, but so had Allan.

What do we learn from these two stories? Is there any magic used? No, it is all natural. When the attitude is positive, we enjoy pleasant feelings and visualize what we really want to happen. This brings brightness to the eyes, more energy and happiness. The whole being broadcasts good will, happiness and success. Even the health is affected in a beneficial way. We walk tall, our voice is more powerful, and our body language shows the way we feel.

Positive and negative thinking are contagious.

All of us affect the people we meet, in one way or another. This happens instinctively and on a subconscious level, through our thoughts and feelings, and through body language. People sense our aura, and are affected by our thoughts, and vice versa. Is it any wonder that we want to be around positive people, and prefer to avoid negative ones? People are more disposed to help us, if we are positive, and they dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity.

Negative thoughts, words and attitude bring up negative and unhappy moods and actions. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.

Practical Instructions

In order to turn the mind toward the positive, some inner work is required, since attitude and thoughts do not change overnight.

Read about this subject, think about its benefits, and persuade yourself to try it. The power of thoughts is a mighty power that is always shaping our life. This shaping is usually done subconsciously, but it is possible to make the process a conscious one. Even if the idea seems strange, give it a try. You have nothing to lose, but only to gain.

Ignore what other people might say or think about you, if they discover that you are changing the way you think.

Use imagination to visualize only favorable and beneficial situations.

Use positive words in your inner dialogues, or when talking with others.

Smile a little more, as this helps to think positively.

Once a negative thought enters your mind, you have to be aware of it, and endeavor to replace it with a constructive one. The negative thought will try again to enter your mind, and then, you have to replace it again with a positive one. It is as if there are two pictures in front of you, and you have to choose to look at one of them, and disregard the other. Persistence will eventually teach your mind to think positively, and to ignore negative thoughts.

In case you feel inner resistance and difficulties when replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, do not give up, but keep looking only at the beneficial, good and happy thoughts in your mind.

It doesn’t matter what your circumstances are at the present moment. Think positively, expect only favorable results and situations, and circumstances will change accordingly. If you persevere, you will transform the way your mind thinks. It might take some time for the changes to take place, but eventually they will.

Another useful techniques is the repetition of affirmations. This technique is similar to creative visualization, and can be used together with it.

The other articles at this website, about the power of concentration, willpower, self-discipline and peace of mind, also contribute to the development of a positive mind, and are recommended for reading and practicing.

Who are you inspired by? Who, what or where inspires you? What makes you tick? Where do you get your ideas from? I'll tell you mine.

A friend posted this onto my Face Book this morning. Lovely. I also get inspired all the time by sayings and quotes.

We get inspired by beauty and youth every day. And we want to grasp it in our hands. There is a bit of beauty in every household.

I found this image from Pinter est. Love it. Would be tempted to make one as a joke gift for my sister’s husband for a Christmas Gag gift. I couldn’t imagine the coffee beans going into the microwave, but I’m sure it would hold up. But to get it rinsed, that could be a different story.

Who are you inspired by? Who or what in your life drives you to create? What motivates you to do what you do? It doesn’t matter what you do, but we all are inspired from something.

Are you one of those people who loves to flip through a magazine to get inspired? Are you a picture person or are you text? What draws you to the page? Is it enough to make you stay? Or are you the one who flips through pages quickly?

Sometimes I am the one who is flipping through a magazine rather quickly. But as I go, I discover a page here and there that I want to linger in a moment longer. And then the reading grips me with a vise and I’m there for the duration.

I love seeing the pretty pictures. Sometimes, I can flip through quick and other times, I find I need to study the picture a little longer to see how it is made. And as I sit in my chair (usually at a waiting room), I find myself asking that question. ”Could I make that?” Or, “That would look perfect in my dining room.” Where can I get it?

Or can I come up with something similar and unique because it is my own.

And sometimes it is a celebrity who we are inspired by. Which celebrities are your favorites? Do you have a whole bunch of favorites or does just one all time favorite sum it up for you? What is it about them that makes you love them or their style? Is there one actor or actress that you love that you think nobody else measures up to?

And if you could have been one of them, who would you have switched places with? And how do you think they would have lived if they had filled your shoes? Vice versa. What would you have done with their life? Maybe I’ve just given you a great story to write. Or maybe I’ll write it someday. Hmm…..

Too much on my plate right now.

Here’s a funny little story that I read from one of my brother’s friends on face book. He dreamed that he was at a yard sale and bought a bunch of socks that were in a fish bowl. I laughed and told him if I saw them at a yard sale like that tomorrow, I would know who to send them to. And then another friend told him, “Have fun with your smelly, stinky dream socks.” Cute.

That’s the beauty of face book. You get to have a good laugh with your family and friends no matter how far away you live from them.

Well, as I think about things, I would have to say that I love Katherine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. Those would be my favorite older actresses or iconic figures that I would look up to. And when I die, maybe I will float on over and have a cup of tea with them and a Sarah Lee pound cake fer sure.

Who knows, I’m not dead yet. And I don’t plan on going until I get my face on one of those Smucker’s jars. By then, someone else will be announcing the old geezers that we will be.

Ode to be old and sitting in a rocking chair like Whistler’s mother or Grandma Moses. Now she lived a full life.

I guess my favorite modern actresses would be, Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfried, Julia Roberts, Paltrow, Kate Winslet and I’m sure others.

I really like a lot of different ones. It kind of depends on the movie. I basically like watching a lot of different ones and decide if I think they are acting well in the movie. And sometimes I fall asleep on a movie and it becomes meaningless.

I’m a fan of the Twilight movies. Anything Gothic will do it for me. I love those movies, Gothic art fascinates me. I always wish my art would be Gothic, but it ends up being pretty, nostalgic and lovingly done. But I do have some works that can be borderline. Like a doll with no eyes. That would do it.

Anything that has photographic atmosphere really inspires me.

It’s not just the people that inspire me. It’s the images, the artwork, the photography, the way a certain thing looks.

Sometimes we can go somewhere and look at our surroundings and just get inspired. Do you ever find yourself walking into an antique shop or somewhere else that you want to visualize just for the sake of ideas? I love looking at antique shops, but usually don’t go because I don’t have the money for their pricey old stuff. And once in a while I will purchase something. Maybe once a year or two.

And how many times do you just get inspired by your family and friends? Quite often, I would think. And if you are a writer like I am, we can get ideas from absolutely anywhere. Maybe it was something that Aunt Susan said to you yesterday that maybe made you think to yourself, “Oohh…. you just gave me an awesome idea.” ”Your spoon you are holding is giving me an outrageous thought. I’m gonna bang the crap out of it and write all my wedding guests names on them!!!”

That is a Pinter est idea by the way. If you haven’t already checked it out, go and get an invite. It’s lots of fun.

Have you ever thought that a simple photograph could begin a story for you? I’ve known other authors and poets who have used this idea in their poetry. I gave it a whirl a few times. It’s kind of fun.

Or if you get five of your friends to try this out, I bet you all would come up with something completely different. As we all perceive things in a different way.

If you were to be really reckless and wild, which actress or actor would you be? Or even more fun, which family or friend would you be?

Which one would you most likely not want to be like? Is there one that seems most infamous to you? If you were to tell one of them what you thought of them, which one would you most likely tell them a piece of your mind?

I think for me it would be Lindsay Lohan. She has really made a mess of herself. And there’s no need. I once admired her movies, back in the day when she was good, but she has really spiralled downhill for me to get disgusted. And I kind of got disgusted when she came out of the closet.

I’m not judgemental. If people are gay, that’s their choice. I like Ellen and she’s gay. I like her because she is funny. I love her show.

I’m also a fan of the Today Show and Rachel Ray. I don’t mind Nate Berkus. I can’t stand Dr. Phil and Judge Judy. I’m glad she was never my mother. I’ll switch the station quick usually. Anderson Cooper is okay, but something about that show bugs me to no end.

My job is EBay, so I get to be home to watch these and then be there for my kids when they are home.

And speaking of kids, how many times have they inspired you? Countless times, I’m sure. Kids inspire the world over and over. We are amazed at their capabilities, their profound feelings and emotions. They wear their hearts on a string. They can be as blunt as can be. They are not afraid to tell you what they think.

Sometimes we are so surprised at what came out of their mouths. And yes, sometimes we look over and think, “Is that my child? She’s not mine, really. Oh, bleep…….” Your face turns more red than the tomatoes in your sandwich. Or strawberries……. or the bright red undies that you are wearing and nobody knows it.

Nope, I’m not wearing red today. Maybe tomorrow. If I remember.

What was the person, place or thing that made you do the wildest thing you’ve ever done?

I’m not sure what my wildest thing I’ve ever done. Maybe to walk the streets of New York City at night once and not quite knowing where I was going? I thought I was going to get lost, but I found my way to my college friends and the movie theater we were supposed to all meet at. Thank-god.

I was never one to do a really crazy thing. Well, actually now that I think of it, I have done something crazy. It’s how I met my current boyfriend (and my future one and only). But I’m not sure if I’m ready to tell anyone what I did. I did tell one or two old friends and I made the mistake of telling my sister. And I caught holy hell for it.

I guess the only thing I will be willing to confess is that I’m a little like my character, Sarah in my Black Roses book. Let’s just say, I can relate to her. Although, thank god there has never been a murder in my life.

It’s in the past anyway. And I got lucky and met a wonderful man. Yay!!!!

Anyway, when my sister started snapping at me, the phone went about a foot away from my ear. Yup. Yup. Yup. Over and done with, Martha. I was bad, and now I’m good. ha ha….

I may not be famous, but I’ve lived a colorful life so far. And one of the best things was being a stay at home mom.

And how many moms have you been inspired by in your life? Many I bet.

In your close surroundings, who has inspired you the most? Has there ever been anyone in your life that you have been trying to be like your whole life? There is for me.

My mother. I loved her and my whole life will be on being who she was and making sure my children grow up knowing who she was. She is my biggest icon in this whole life.

And my children are also my biggest inspiration. And my biggest accomplishment. Four little miracles that make me smile every day.

And it is so true that we meet the other half in our life by so many mysterious ways. I guess it all makes for an interesting story. How did you meet the love of your life? Write about it and tell your kids.

One of my writer friends from an old writing class was writing her memoirs for her grandchildren. She wanted them to know what it was like for her growing up in a certain neighborhood.

Basically all over the world, we are inspired. Each and every day. It’s what we make of it that counts in our lives.

Being inspired by other people, places and things makes us grow as our authentic selves. And we turn it into something that is uniquely ours.

But hearing stories, seeing images and being inspired makes the world go round. And we are left with raw emotions that make us feel something. And suddenly we are not quite who we were before. New thoughts form.

Love her. Okay, maybe someday I will write the story about a young woman who switches places with her. It could even be a young girl in the future who wants to know what her life is like and Katherine Hepburn wakes up inside her casket and desires to live life again and this young girl meets her in a dream and asks her to experience her young life.

Okay, there’s my food for thought today. Or maybe it starts out that two dead women (me and Katherine Hepburn and her two friends, Audrey and Liz are having tea spread out on a fancy black cobweb picnic table above James Dean’s grave. Mind you while he is smoking pot over yonder with Marilyn Monroe.) and she and I decide to live life over again in one an other’s lives.

The countdown continues and with the world events unfolding fast we can have a better idea of what is to come...

Today marks 64 years since Israel became a nation again on May 14, 1948 and there is only 6 years left until the 70th anniversary of Israel’s rebirth in the year 2018. As I shared in my article, The Countdown to Jerusalem 2018, written back in 2008 a very significant historic event is bound to take place in Jerusalem that year.

In it, I also predicted that 2008 will mark the beginning of the countdown with a series of political, economic, as well as natural disaster events that will intensify with each year as we approach 2018. I wrote about coming global economic depression, which actually began with what the media dubbed “The Great Recession” later that same year. It never really ended. The so-called “recovery” was nothing more than just a short-term bubble created by stimulus money that most governments have thrown at it and we can clearly see now that it did not really change anything for the better.

United States is getting deeper in debt, their dollar is still losing value, and unemployment is still a growing problem, not to mention the political struggle over the direction the country should take as its next presidential election approaches. The European Union is in the middle of a very serious economical crisis as well as its major economies such as Italy and France face deep austerity measures to avoid near-default situations that Greece is facing.

The global economy also still feels the pain of devastation caused by the mega-earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crisis that devastated Japan in 2011. There is anxiety and uncertainty related to massive political upheavals taking place in the Middle East as well as a nuclear threat coming from Iran, which is closer than ever from becoming a nuclear power. And the fact that openly authoritarian China and Russia are backing Iran up does not help either. It seems that the world is more politically divided than ever, even within individual countries on the lines of left versus right, more spending versus austerity, and in the case of United States even along racial lines.

Even the sun is becoming more violent as it gets deeper into its solar maximum faze with more sunspots, solar flares, storms, and even solar tornadoes raging on its surface, which in turn affects the weather patterns and seismic activity on earth. We can only expect more mega earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, draughts, floods, crops failures, and deepening food crises to follow.

These are very difficult times for many, but not a reason to despair. Knowing what is to come can help us to prepare both physically and spiritually. We all must be alert against the deception as some will try to use crisis in order to bring the people who are still free into bondage. Do not believe everything that you see in the mainstream media. More than ever before pray and think for yourself. Do not follow blindly your religious leaders and politicians, but judge whether their words match their actions. There is no doubt that we are living in times predicted by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 24 and He specifically warned us not to be deceived.

Major religious and political leaders will begin to work together to convince all people that they must give up all their differences, and most of their freedoms in order to achieve world peace and save mankind form self destruction. It will sound very good to our human intellect and many will fall for it with disastrous consequences, but to quote the Scriptures, “Those who know their God will be strong and will carry out great exploits.”

Use of internet is constantly growing but particularly in Derbyshire UK where the government has recently approved an exciting £15 million new broadband infrastructure creating “Digital Derbyshire”. The brand new infrastructure led by Derbyshire County Council will provide the county with faster communication speeds through broadband and make huge improvements digital life in Derbyshire.

This exciting venture is one of the first of its kind in the Country and has been partly funded by Governments Broadband Delivery UK (GBUK) scheme. The authority is now seeking the second half of the funding from other sources. GBUK is working closely with the county council to secure an approved private sector partner to deliver Digital Derbyshire project.

Broadband Investment will affect more than 180,000 homes and businesses in areas that would usually have slow connection speeds or no broadband at all, known as “white areas”. Obviously this will have a positive impact on so many and open up opportunities for society in this area.
Thousands of the people residing in Derbyshire have supported and fought for this proposal and worked really hard with each other by volunteering themselves as broadband champions and conducting surveys from over 6000 people from the community. Commitment and hard work has absolutely paid off and it has been worth it because the result for the community is monumental.

Residents can expect advantages such as utilising on-line software to save time and money such as online book keeping systems, home working reducing fuel output, increasing resources and productivity for employers, communicating with relatives who live abroad more economically, utilising the internet for entertainment and information. Not only will this impact on people individually at home but for Derbyshire as a whole will bring jobs and investment to the county, it will improve business growth and promote new business opportunities for those who currently couldn’t work from home.

Their vision, “To transform and enhance the quality of life for every community in Derbyshire through excellent access to broadband” providing key interlinked drivers such as:

Stimulating economic growth

Tackling inequality

Building stronger communities

Based on current estimates, over the next 10 years the project will deliver:

An additional 3042 jobs across Derbyshire

Net increase of £207m in GVA per annum

A cost benefit ratio on public investment of 73:1
