These are cash-strapped times and the NHS really needs to be careful where it is spending its money. So I can't help but feel concerned they are set to splash out £100,000 on reprinting a pregnancy manual to remove the word "dad" and replace it with "partner". Not only is this a severe waste of money but surely it undermines the notion of the traditional family unit?

The NHS is all set to re-print its pregnancy handbooks to remove the word ‘dad’.

According to a recent review, the use of the word dad was seen as discriminatory to same-sex couples.

It is after all only weeks since NICE approved one round of fertility treatment on the NHS for same sex couples, allowing gay and lesbian couples more chance to have children.

But opponents of the removal of the word dad say it undermines the idea of the traditional family and I have to say I agree.

I believe the traditional family unit is being severely undermined in this modern age. It is becoming far less common for a family to consist of a married couple with children. Instead there are a lot of people simply co-habiting and having children, while there are also new boyfriends and girlfriends, step-parents and so on.

While it is not right to prejudice against any kind of family set-up, at the same time I feel that is it right to champion the traditional family unit and uphold it as the family ideal because otherwise less and less people will try and strive for it.

If the notion of a married mother and father becomes obsolete from public information then the notion of it in practise will slide and slide.

The NHS consider that the term partner is all-encompassing but I don’t believe this is the case. To me the word partner is used when a couple are unmarried and a lot of married couples would be upset to have to play down their relationship to each other.

It is tricky when it comes to same-sex partnerships. Of course it is not right in this day and age if they feel something so public as an NHS guide is not including them but at the same time surely this is a rather trivial point when their recognised rights to have a family have come so far.

To further compound the pointlessness of this exercise, the re-printing of this pregnancy manual will cost £100,000. This is £100,000 that the NHS could really do with putting into far more worthy causes during these cash-strapped times.

The NHS argue that the pregnancy manual was due a reprint anyway but that sounds a little too convenient an excuse to me.

Crowd in support of Gay Marriage (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Obama has said yes to gay marriage. It has been around for ages and it isn’t going anywhere. Why many people hate it is because they don’t understand it. My wife has gay friends, and I don’t have a problem with them or with her. They know I’m not like that and understand that I like women only.

Most gay men and women don’t even look like they would be gay. That goes to show you can’t judge a book by its cover. Passing judgment on people you know nothing about is wrong. Most gay men and women will not show that they’re gay, but to only their closest friends and family members.

So I’m really not concerned about or scared to talk to a gay person, whether I know it or not. Most are friendly and will not try anything unless you were to tell them you’re gay too. Then they might try hitting on you. So there are no worries to all of you that are straight.

If a man and another man want to get married, then this shouldn’t be a problem, as it does not affect those that are straight, only except disgust them into hatred over something they don’t understand. That is their business. Same with women, if that’s the way they’re geared then that’s fine to, again that is their choices and their lives. You can’t stop love.

Thanks

A rant on homophobia.

Right, this article is going to be much more of a rant, I can tell you that for a fact! This is something that really pisses me off. When somebody treats another person differently because of thier sexual orientation. WHY?!?!?!

I say this now. I am straight. Hetrosexual to the bone. But I know a number of “Gay” people. One of my best friends is a lesbian and I love her to bits and she is in a happy relationship with her girlfriend of a year. But there’s been times when I’ve been out with them, they’ve been holding hands and complete strangers will glare at them! Seriously if looks could kill! But I am happy to say that they don’t notice, and if they do they rise above it.

But not everyone has the same self awareness as they do. For some people it is horrifically hard for them to admit to who they are and the fact they like the same sex. So for those people, having such looks would kill them inside. I know when I get looks of the same kind for whatever reason I instantly become really self conscious!

I really have to say that “Gay” people are amazing. The fact they can stand up and say this is who I like, even if it means they get a lot of shit for it amazes me.

For the people who do all the name-calling, death glares and hate speech/violence. Go die. You have no right to judge other people based on sexuality. They are still human. They still feel. They still think for themselves. Other than their sexual preference, what makes them so different from you and I? NOTHING WHAT SO EVER!! So swallow the nasty comments you have lined up and ready to fire at them and leave them be.

You may have noticed I put the word Gay in inverted commas, this is because I really do hate labelling people as touched upon in another one of my articles, but we still do it. I believe that future generations will not have to suffer any form of prejudice and two men can love each other in the same way as a man and woman can without being bullied for it.

Though it was tough for heart to select one from the shortlisted list listed by brain despite this I was fully relying on the decision of my heart. Where on the other hand desire of my parents was abased back by me. Indenting the scratch on my parent’s heart on the patty issue of selection of dress which was wore by me on the occasion of school party. This puzzled situation was created at shop due insufficient knowledge of me and having the fledgling experience of life experienced by me. After the coming of answer from heart, pointing towards right if faced directly towards short listed dresses. Ordering the shop keeper to pack the suit chosen by me.

Exiting the boundaries of shop then walking towards car and after reaching at car, getting in car with zipped mouth which was zipped un till I was entered in the extent of my room. After reaching home and entering in house I have neglected myself from the list of members of house through my body language and attitude. This act which could be said crucial to some extent, annoyed every member of house. By saving every second I went in my room and locked myself in, wearing my new dress and standing in front of mirror and witnessing own image from the pride of loin. Coming out from room and presenting me as some present in stage of modeling. When I was not approved handsome in new dress by the entire family, I went in my room, changed my clothes and felled on bed up till the next morning.

After preparing myself for school in new dress and having hope to appreciated in school but which was failed after coming back home without speaking any word I went and felled in feet of my parents and apologized for the last night happening with tears in my eyes. The topic of my writing the best clothes I have ever wore are the same clothes of my choice which were pathetic for me after the shaming in school up till the apologization from my parents for hurting their feelings or in easy words, seconds before it was the worst dress for me but the moment later it became the best for me.

New laws will see that same sex couples will be allowed a round of free fertility treatment in the UK just like everyone else. While I’m pleased this is finally happening I personal feel it hasn’t come soon enough for my country.

Gay Couple should have 100% the same rights as any other couple. People forget that it can be harder for same sex couples to have a family, something which everyone has a right to.

This new law means it will be the first time same sex couples will be allowed free fertility treatment under the NHS.

Religious groups have of course kicked up a storm saying its wrong to include gay couples. while I do try to respect other people’s beliefs it angers me that they just can’t leave it alone. Its not effecting them and no one is getting hurt, if anything it brings joy and love into the world. Surely everyone wants that?

This news will bring relief to the gay community who sometimes struggle to have a child with donated sperm. Gay people are still experiencing discrimination and hopefully this will be one step closer to bringing down those walls.

Marriage and Homosexuality is a trending topic. Here is what I have to say about it.

The Debate is ongoing, whether to legalize gay marriage in the United States. It may be simple as it sounds but believe it or not, in this generation, a lot of people are still against it. Many still think that gay marriage is inappropriate and that marriage should be given to a man and woman in love. But in this changing time, will we be able to accept this growing number of homosexuality all around the world? Will we be able to accept that same sex marriage is no longer taboo, and is already a part of our society?

Religion plays a huge role in the context and acceptance of homosexuality. I am a Catholic and I was raised to learn and live Christian teachings until now. Though the conservative views of the Catholic Church do not accept different sexual orientations such as gay, bisexual and lesbians, still, Catholics who still belong to these groups hear mass and attend religious activities despite the constant bullying among other fellow Catholics and Christians. If having such sexual orientation is a sin, then might as well stone them to death together with the prostitutes and tax collectors.

They are also human beings with thoughts and feelings. Homosexuals live in constant fear, especially those who are afraid to get out of the closet. Most bullying and prejudice starts at home, wherein parents and siblings probably could not accept a homosexual among the family. Teenagers suffer also outside of the home where teasing, taunting and bullying may come from their peers. Although society has open up to these people, and possibly got used to it, some still shut the idea of homosexuality. Though compared to previous years, more people are open to homosexuality.

The issue of marriage among homosexuals still raises a lot of questions. But as for me, I wouldn’t mind giving these people the equal opportunity to do things like a normal couple can do. There is no harm in giving these people a chance to express themselves and not live in fear. It may not be conventional but what is left to deny when we can clearly see that our society is indeed changing. There is no harm done in accepting such deposition.

I personally have friends who are gay and lesbians, who are really good friends. They are funny, very sociable and talented people. I know most of their life stories and their struggles. If you have friends like mine, you will definitely understand their personality. For me, as long as they are not a threat to society and actually give back to it, there is no problem. In a religious point of view, I think religion taught us to respect our fellowmen, no matter the race, color, stature in life and gender.

Same sex marriage, birth control, and abortion. My thoughts on the subjects...

North Carolina recently passed Amendment 1 to the constitution that would ban same sex marriage. This ban also bans domestic partnerships, civil unions, and more. I believe that the voters who voted for this Amendment to the constitution were ludicrous. The thing about rights is that people shouldn’t vote on them. If all rights can now be voted upon, can I take away people’s rights to have a religion and believe a god, goddess, gods, and/or goddesses? It is asinine if you ask me.

Besides when it comes to homosexual tendencies, I have to think it is natural. I have seen it in nature often enough as well as heterosexuality. I also believe humans are a strain of apes as was proved by Charles Darwin in his theory of evolution. Still, some people go so far as to make horrible claims towards their gay and lesbian and even bisexual counterparts. I honestly don’t see what same sex marriage will do to anyone else. That is between the people getting married.

Another thing that is confusing to me is the way, Republican governors are waging their war on women. Kansas governor wants to make it so pharmacies can ban birth control from their stores based on religious grounds. At least, this is what I understood from it. It makes no sense to me to be honest. That is like telling women and men to flood our nation with even more uncared for children. To me, that just isn’t right. Every child that is born should be well provided for, at least with the basic necessities.

As for abortion, shouldn’t that be left to a woman to decide whether she wants to keep the fetus or not? We all know that most men don’t want to take the responsibility of being a father to a child and women are stuck with a child. After all, women are the ones that carry a baby in their bellies for up to nine months and then push it out of their vaginas if they choose to have children. Men only put the sperm in and don’t do much of the work. So, with this in mind I firmly believe it is up to a woman whether she wants to keep a fetus or not.

Of course, these are just my own thoughts on the subject matter. You can disagree or agree and I am not trying to argue.
