Ignorance dominates our reason and humanity, and this way leads to manipulations and control through banking and monetary system. “It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning” (Ford). Basically what it says is that people are not aware of what is happening around them and they are not capable to understand how their money is created. Because of this, our ignorance is one of the first reasons why banks make so much money. But if people really understand how their money is created, then they will try to destroy this system as soon as it is possible. “Their ignorance means effective manipulation from others, too much faith, laziness and lack of appropriate information intentionally or unintentionally” (Privatized Banking or Family Banking Systems). This quote means that the current situation is occurring because people have decided to ignore the right information intentionally or unintentionally. Sometimes they do not have the right information and sometimes they avoid it on purpose. This makes them believe in a blindly way and does not let them do the revolution they must do. People are being manipulated by their elite and banking system. This is causing too much faith and laziness at the same time.

    The Federal Reserve System is the central banking system of the United States owned by a few private bankers and used for personal interests through human control. Since its beginning, it has been owned by a few people who have taken all the power to make huge profits by controlling others and issuing the raw material called money. It was created in 1913 and since then it has been controlled by the elite which has had the total authority to complete its materialistic desires. Since the moment when money has been used, its process has been controlled by the elite. These few private bankers have had all the needed power to make huge profits through money and control its system perfectly. “Changes in the quantity of money may originate with actions of the Federal Reserve System (the central bank), depository institutions (principally commercial banks), or the public. The major control, however, rests with the central bank” (Modern Money Mechanics 3). Basically what it says is that until now many changes have occurred because of the central bank, institutions and ordinary people as well. However, the main reason is the so called central bank which holds the entire power to change the quantity of money in different ways. Money quantity changes only because the central bank wants to do that.
    The Federal Reserve System is growing stronger because of people’s ignorance, their created false belief and their incapability to find out what is really happening. “Federal Reserve System is based on secrecy, it manipulates people and makes them believe that they run the banks through creating panic and then finding the right solutions for them” (The American Dream). Basically what it says is that today to most Americans, the Federal Reserve System is a governmental institution. They do not have any idea about its role in the economy and their lives because they have been manipulated by this system. This system is very secret and it makes people believe that it helps them through creating strong economic situations. Firstly, the Fed creates panic and chaos and then it finds the right solution to that specific problem. People do not know who created the panic. They appreciate only the solutions served to them. “Most of Americans do not know why it was founded, how it operates nowadays or how their money and banking system can end whatever the Fed generates” (Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve). This quote says that people are so ignorant because most of the Americans do not know the real origin and purpose of the foundation of this banking system. They are not aware how it really works and what are its real functions. Most Americans do not know that their economic situations and their money validity depend on the operations of the Federal Reserve Bank.
    Money is created out of nothing because the Federal Reserve Bank has enough freedom to gamble on financial market even that ordinary people are victims. In “How Do Banks Create Money Out of Thin Air?” Barren says that “They are much more than just a place to put your money and from which to borrow money-banks are either bastions of economics stability or creators of economic instability”. What this quote says is that bank system is nothing of what has been presented to us. Banks are not only some places where we can borrow money or save them.  The Federal Reserve Bank and its owners create the economic situations. They use their special privileges to gamble on financial market however they want and this causes stability or instability. Basically, the central bank creates our economic stability and instability through its actions.
    The Federal Reserve Bank use its license to print money, to make more money out of thin air and affect our government and ordinary people in an indirect way. “After it prints the money, this bank gives loans to the government and charges interest on them. Then government imposes taxes which are paid by the ordinary people” (The American Dream).  Basically what this quote says is that printing money is unconstitutional and the Fed controls the currency and prints money out of nothing just because they need to do so. This way, it keeps the money flown. This is how the Federal Reserve Bank affects everyone. Through this method, the Fed prints its money and distributes it. When it gives loans to the government, it charges interest on them in order to profit itself. However, this interest is not paid by the government. It is paid by ordinary people because government makes them pay it through imposing different taxes on many things.

Protection and support of the government offered to the banks is another way of expanding money creation and controlling our society. “These profits are a direct result of its power to create money and the power to create money is derived from the government” (Woodward 9). Essentially what this quote means is that government instead of being the servant of humanity and regulating the economy, it is offering lots of space to the banks to act as they want to and control money as well. The government prints our paper money but that is only a small fraction of the used money. Most of the money in national economies is created and controlled by the banks. Government acts as an ignorant body because is under the influence of bankers and this way, it gives up all of its duties about the currency and the market system. Instead of serving its people and being of the people, by the people and for the people, it is supporting private banks and playing their game. Central banks create money as much as they can and this power is derived from the government. This is strongly supported through the quote said by Prime Minister of Singapore Lee HsienLoong which says: “When you start thinking that you can create something out of nothing, it’s very difficult to resist” (Inside Job). Basically what it says is that when our government sees that it can creates more out of nothing, then it becomes part of that game. The thing is that our government is being manipulated as well. It cannot resist the situation where it can make something huge out of nothing. This increases its greed and makes it unable to say no to some certain situations.

    The Federal Reserve Banks works based on Fractional Reserve System which takes only a fraction of the customer’s deposits which increases money supply, completes personal interests of some bankers and manipulates costumers in an indirect way. “The practice of keeping only a fraction of deposits on hand has a cumulative effect for the banking system as whole. Effectively, it permits the banking system to “create” money” (Woodward 7). What this quote is saying is that the fraction kept by the Federal Banks increases the chances to create much more money. Money is created through loans and many deposits from the banking system. When costumers take loans or deposit their money in their banks, a certain fraction from them is taken by the Fractional Reserve System. This fraction has a great effect for the banking system as whole because every time people use their bank services, some of their money goes to the Fed. This way, the Federal Bank uses this money for further operations such as lending or selling money. That is the method how it creates more money through the Fractional Reserve System.
    Allowing the Fractional Reserve System go on is another way of destruction and ignorance people are passing through. The lack of information and our unwillingness to learn what is really going on, helps this system make more money without any problem at all because only some of us know that Fractional Reserve System “…is like a hidden tax and is the reason that a 1913 US dollar is now only worth 4 cents compared to then” (Anton). Basically what this sentence says is that most of the people think that they are the owners of their money in the bank; some of them think that their money is owned by them and the bank while only a small percentage thinks that the legal owners of their money are only banks. People do not research at all in order to know how their banking system really functions. Sometimes, there is a lack of information but sometimes our unwillingness to seek the truth destroys our life in many aspects. Only a few people know the real truth behind the Fractional Reserve System and the reason why the value of a US dollar has decreased so much. Most of the people are not aware of that at all. They cannot even see that the value of their money is going down as days pass on only because their validity is being separated in many pieces.

One pure example of the significant role of the Central Banks is Iceland which went through a deregulation of economics because of banks privatization that has helped only some people of this country. According to the movie Inside Job, “Within 5 years, these banks in Iceland have borrowed $120.000.000.000 and made huge profits which gave rise to people like Jon Asgeir Johannesson who borrowed millions from banks”. Essentially what this quote says is that government has privatized three main tiny banks of Iceland. They have borrowed huge amounts of money and they have grown so strong within some years.  Unfortunately only some people have benefited themselves. So from people’s money, only a few of them have achieved to be part of the elite and climb the stairs of success like the one mentioned above.

    The Federal Reserve Bank holds great power and authority through some private bankers who controls monetary system and cannot be stopped or supervised by anyone. “The Federal Reserve System virtually controls the nation’s monetary system, yet it is accountable to no one. It has no budget, it is subject to no audit, and no Congressional Committee knows of, or can truly supervise, its operations” (qtd. in Money, Banking, and the Federal Reserve). Essentially this quote says is that what we used to believe about Federal Reserve Bank is not true. The Federal Reserve System has all the power, it cannot be supervised by others and does whatever it wants and no one knows about its operations. We all know that it is there but it cannot be stopped by anyone. “Thus, the Fed has the well-nigh absolute power to determine the money supply if it so wishes” (Rothbard 144). This quote says that the Federal Reserve System has the absolute power to do whatever it thinks it is right in order to complete its needs. It has enough power to determine the money supply if it wishes and no one can interfere on this.

Banks are no more than some kind of businesses which use different methods such as, Fractional Reserve System, governmental support and their license to print money to increase their wealth and their strength even more. Understanding money creation and its system is very difficult. We are living in a world fulfilled of mysteries and conspiracies through which a few people are benefiting and 99% of others are suffering. The Federal Reserve Bank controls everything and we are still not aware of what is happening around us “So should we have to live with less so that the banks can have more?” (Why do banks make so much money?) Based on this quote, it is my belief that if we live this way we are living right now, then we will suffer a lot and our banks will have so much more. I do not think we should let this situation continuing and I believe we should change this in order to destroy the ignorance that is being a greater part of our humanity and find a solution for ourselves as soon as it is possible.

A billion is a very large number. And a billion dollars is a hard concept to imagine. I mean could you imagine a stack of a billion one dollar bills. I cannot imagine what that would look like and I know that if I had a billion dollars I would not have it in cash. I would place all of it into the bank. This way I would not risk having it lost. 

To ensure that I would not lose it all in the event of a bank crash I would have several different accounts so that I would have more than $250,000 in FDIC insured money.

Losing a billion dollars would be a horrible thing.

But I do not know what a billion dollars is. The only thing that I know about a billion dollars is the amount of money that I would like t make.

I am unsure of what I would do with a billion dollars.

I do know that I would be able to get any credit card that I want if my income were at that level in a singe year.

Could you imagine having a billion dollars in your checking account that you could have access to at anytime as long as you have a debit card. I know that if I had that I would shop at one of the larger malls in the country so that I could help to stimulate the economy.

When you purchase anything from a store you are helping to stimulate the economy. The most important factor when it comes t economic growth is cash flow from person to busssinesss to another person who is paid by this.

Commisioned salespeople are the most important piece of economic growth.

The head of a UN mission warned on Saturday of “civil war” in Syria after his observers counted more than 92 bodies, 32 of them children, in the central town of Houla following reports of a massacre there.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon joined a chorus of international condemnation amid mounting calls for world action to halt the bloodshed

The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that Friday’s shelling in the city of Houla, in central Homs province, had led to what seemed to be one of the bloodiest episodes so far of the 15-month long uprising.

Unconfirmed amateur videos posted by activists on YouTube showed around 20 bodies, mostly young children, lying in a room. One man holds up the limp body of a boy aged around seven, a gaping hole punched in the lower portion of his face. “This child, what did he do to deserve this?”, he shouts.

Other footage shows the corpses of men and women lying under patterned blankets, including what is said to be one entire family. “We’re being slaughtered like sheep here,” says one voice. “Where are the UN observers?” adds another.

William Hague, Foreign Secretary, has condemned the latest violence, saying the UK will press for an urgent session of the United Nations Security Council to co-ordinate the response to the “appalling” crime.

“There are credible and horrific reports that a large number of civilians have been massacred at the hands of Syrian forces in the town of Houla, including children,” he said.

“Our urgent priority is to establish a full account of this appalling crime and to move swiftly to ensure that those responsible are identified and held to account.

“We are consulting urgently with our allies on a strong international response, including at the UN Security Council, the EU and UN human rights bodies.

Mr Hague urged President Bashar Assad’s regime to grant “full and immediate” access to Houla for UN monitors and stop all military options, as demanded by special envoy Kofi Annan.

The Free Syrian Army said on Saturday it could no longer commit to the ceasefire brokered by UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan unless there was an immediate solution to regime violence.

“We announce that unless the UN Security Council takes urgent steps for the protection of civilians, Annan’s plan is going to go to hell,” a statement by the FSA said.

The fresh claims of regime atrocities led the opposition Syrian National Council to call on the UN Security Council to take urgent action. At the same time, the Observatory accused the Arab and international communities of being “complicit” in the killing, saying that shelling that had begun on Friday had continued into the night. The Observatory said the international community was standing “silent in the face of the massacres committed by the Syrian regime.”

Human rights monitors said the regime also deployed tanks to Aleppo, Syria’s second largest city, for the first time since the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad began last March. Aleppo, Syria’s economic hub, has previously been largely a bastion of support for the regime.

There was no immediate independent confirmation of the opposition accounts, which the Syrian government often claims are exaggerated. Damascus has restricted access for foreign journalists during the anti-regime protests.

In a briefing to the UN Security Council, Ban Ki-Moon, the UN Secretary General, conceded there had been little progress in efforts to organise a ceasefire and that fighting was likely to continue as rebels held “significant” portions of several cities.

Mr Annan brokered a peace deal last month but it has had little impact and more than 1,500 people have been killed since it was announced, according to the Observatory.

Describing the killing in Houla, Rami Abdel Rahman, the head of the monitoring group, said: “It was a real massacre that took place and the UN observers are just staying silent.”

He added said helicopter gunships also went into action against rebels, strafing mountain villages in the Latakia area of northwestern Syria, near the Turkish border, wounding at least 20 people.

At least four policemen were killed in clashes with rebels in nearby Kansebba, he said.

Hours after massive anti-regime rallies across Aleppo, tanks deployed in the city, rumbling through the Kalasse and Bustan al-Kasr neighbourhoods after thousands attended a funeral, the monitoring group said.

Earlier it reported that a young man was killed in Aleppo when troops fired with live rounds and tear gas on protesters in the city.

Mr Abdel Rahman told AFP in Beirut that the protests in Aleppo were “the most important” in the city since the uprising started in March 2011.

The UN says more than 9,000 people have been killed, most of them civilians.

The violence was “blind and disproportionate” has been applied. Both demanded that those responsible be held accountable. The violence must be stopped immediately.

The government troops had fired at the settlements in Al Hula with cannons and rocket launchers. Eyewitnesses reported that hundreds of strikes. UN Beboachter confirmed the deaths of 92 people including 32 children. Human rights activists had even spoken before of 110 fatalities.

Mass exodus into the interior

The $15,000 buyouts, pro-rated for part-time staff, are available to nearly all of the Postal Service’s mail handlers, excluding around 2,000 who aren’t career employees.

Mail handlers work at post offices and mail processing centers sorting mail, transporting it within their facility and loading and unloading trucks.

“The Postal Service is adjusting the size of its network to adapt to America’s changing mailing trends,” USPS spokesman Mark Saunders said in an email Friday.

The Postal Service wants to reduce its workforce by 150,000 by 2015, though Saunders said he had “nothing to announce” regarding potential buyouts for other USPS employees.

The offer for mail handlers, finalized earlier this week, came as a result of talks between the Postal Service and the National Postal Mail Handlers Union. In a statement Thursday, the union said the deal “is intended to provide a financial cushion, and added peace of mind, for Mail Handlers who might be prepared to move on to the next chapter of their lives.”

The Postal Service reported a $3.2 billion loss for the first three months of this year. The recession, declining mail volumes and a congressional mandate to pre-fund retirement health care benefits drove the losses.

The health care mandate is a major liability for the Postal Service, which doesn’t have the cash to make a $5.5 billion payment that’s due in August. The Postal Service supports itself on sales of postage and mail services, and gets no taxpayer funding.

Earlier this month, the agency announced that it was averting previously-planned closures of rural post offices and delaying consolidations of postal plants. Some 48 plants are still set to be closed or consolidated in July and August, and others could follow in 2013 and 2014.
