The nation’s homeless have started to use an iPhone app called Square to collect alms from passersby who don’t have any cash. Square allows users to scan credit or debit cards for small sums of money that are automatically deposited into bank accounts.

Homeless people stand around mostly watching other people getting in their cars to go to work or home after dropping their children off at school.
