They get most of the full time&nbsp;positions. Now, here I am working in a place where I am now below the waitress, financially. I am now just a cashier.</p>
<p>What is going on! Why are&nbsp;gas prices&nbsp;so high? Will we ever get a break? The sad thing is it&#8217;s only going to get worse. Sure the majority of the world will be ok, but what about the poor people? I&#8217;m not talking middle class people that think they are poor, I&#8217;m talking really poor. I think anyone that makes less than $12,000.00 a year should be considered poor. I know; I am now one of those people. This is my story.</p>

<p>Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) &ndash; Pursuant to this statute,  employers are not allowed to discriminate against employees as well as  applicants based on their physical or mental disability. Employers doing  business in the United States territory with 15 or more workers are  covered by the ADA.</p>
<p>Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) &ndash; This Federal law  protects the employment rights of people aged 40 and above. With <a href="http://www.eeoc.gov/laws/statutes/adea.cfm" target="_blank"><strong>ADEA</strong></a>,  employers with 20 or more employees are prohibited from discriminating  against qualified applicants and employees due to their age.</p>
<p>Equal Payment Act (EPA) &ndash; This employment law aims to eliminate  discrimination based on sex. Under this law, covered employers are  required to provide just salary to workers regardless of their sex.</p>
<p>Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) &ndash; Pursuant to GINA,  it is unlawful for employers to discriminate against employees or job  seekers based on their genetic information as well as family medical  history.</p>
<p>Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA) &ndash; In accordance with this Act,  employers cannot terminate, demote, or deny applications of a female  employee due to her pregnancy. Pregnant job applicants are also  protected by PDA.</p>
<p>California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) &ndash; This California  State law makes it unlawful for California-based employers to  discriminate against employees and applicants based on their age, sex  and gender, disability, religion, race or color, and national origin.</p>
<p>Victims of employment discrimination in California are advised to  submit a formal complaint with the United States Equal Employment  Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In accordance with EEOC&rsquo;s instructions,  workplace discrimination complaints must be filed within 180 days from  the date of the alleged discriminatory action. However, the 180-day  statute of limitation may be extended up to 300 days if the complaint is  covered by a state anti-discrimination law. In California, the statute  of limitation for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints  is one year.</p>
