10 Most Evil Serial Killers of All Time
What entices the human mind to react in such a way, that it may do the unthinkable? Here are some of the most brutal, merciless and psychotic serial killers of all time.
Thug Behram

Behram was an Indian leader of the Thugge Cult in India. In a 50-year criminal career (1790-1840) Behram is suspected to have killed over 931 victims. The method of killing was usually by hand or by strangulation with a ceremonial cloth used by the cult. Behram is regarded as the most prolific serial killer in the history of the world. Behram was hanged and executed in 1840.
Ted Bundy

Theodore Robert Bundy committed a rampage of serial killings in the United States between the years 1974-1978. He is held responsible for 26-35 murders, most of them young women. He himself confessed to 30 murders, but they remain unconfirmed. The method of killing was usually bludgeoning and strangling, and it is reported that he would engage in sexual acts with the victims as well. He was arrested twice and both times, escaped from prison. In 1978 he was finally apprehended and convicted. Later, he was executed by the electric chair in January 1989.
Aileen Wuornos

An American serial killer and one of the most famous and widely-reported female killers of all time, Aileen was 15 when her grandfather passed away and she began to earn her living as a prostitute. She was working in Florida, where she killed seven men in between the years 1989-1990, claiming they had raped her. Wuornos was convicted for six of the murders and was finally executed on October 9, 2005 via a lethal injection. A movie has been filmed about her life, Monster which won Charlize Theron an Oscar for her role as Aileen Wuornos in 2003.
Gilles de Rais

Gilles was a Marshal of France and a one-time companion of Joan of Arc. He is attributed as the most prolific killer of the middle ages. After a career in the military, Gilles exhausted his inherited wealth and tried to reform his affluence by sacrificing young boys to a demon called the ‘Barron’. Along with an inner circle of allies, Gilles would kidnap boys and bring them to his castle where they would be pampered and feasted and finally, raped and sacrificed ceremoniously. He would often have their limbs opened up and delight at the sight of their internal organs. He victimized and killed more than 100 such children. He is portrayed in various examples of famous pop culture.
Albert DeSalvo

Albert DeSalvo was a serial killer who operated in Boston, between the years 1962-1964 and in this short span, he confessed to the murder of 13 women. The victims were first sexually assaulted and then strangled by an article of clothing. DeSalvo said that he was the ‘Boston Strangler’ although many people still shed doubts upon these confessions and the reality of the whole ordeal was never cleared. In 1967 he was sentenced to lifetime in prison. He later escaped from a hospital where he was contained, and a full-scale manhunt issued. After that he was relocated to another high-security prison and was found murdered a few years later.
Charles Manson

An American criminal who gave rise to a group known as the Manson Family, Charles and the Family were responsible for dozens of murders. The murders were highly publicized. Charles was an artist who performed and wrote songs in his spare time, usually rock influenced, leading many to associate him with insanity and devilry. His music also bore tendencies towards promoting a war between the black and white communities. He is currently imprisoned in Corcoran State Prison and is 74-years-old.
Richard Ramirez

Ricardo or Richard Ramirez is an American serial killer of Hispanic origin who operated in California. He is held responsible for nearly 14 murders and is currently imprisoned in San Quentin State Prison. Dubbed as the ‘Night Stalker’ by the media, Richard terrorized the people of California. The victims themselves were mostly older women, whom he sexually harassed and then shot multiple times. His trial is said to have been one of the longest and one of the most difficult criminal trials in American history, involving over a hundred witnesses and over a thousand jurors. He was given a death sentence and is awaiting his execution via the gas chamber.
Pray for the betterment of society, for the betterment of the world and for betterment of thy human soul.

It is frightening that these psycho paths live among us. I have read where it is estimated that from 30 to 50 serial killers are on the loose at all times. Our law enforcers spend wasted time arresting people for minor and petty offenses, while these dangerous killers roam free.

It gets me upset Knowing that you have to wait for someone to start killing then convict them (which is understandable) I hope in the Future (prob FAR future) there will be a device or way to no when someone is gonna attack before they do! (prob not til the 100000000 millenieum lol! Or maybe Spotting the Different types of killers/symtoms and being able to Medicate/Stabalize them back to reality! before someone elses Reality is Taken!

Amanda, im sorry but you are very immature and most likely do not exactly understand what you are wishing for. A device that would alert someone of our intent to kill, would do far more than that. having constant surveilance on your thoughts would remove your freedom and the privacy of your thoughts and would be far worse than any dictator that has ever lived. While they controll your body through fear, they would controll your mind. and saying that there is something wrong with them and they should be “fixed” with meds is simply disgusting. Im sure you are not a PERFECT person, and so maybe you should be fixed too? should we “fix” the abnormal people? people who think different than us? homosexuals? teenagers that dont listen to thier parents? Be carefull what you wish for. It might just happen.

What Ryan said is true, and brandy, Hitler was a dictator who fought for his beliefs, serial murders kill for the pleasure of it. If Hitler were put on that list, USA, Russia and almost every country should.
Im not siding with Hitler, i actually hate what he did, but thats the truth, theres a difference between Murder for the fun of it, and fighting for what you think is right.

First of all, i am NOT in any way saying what these men and women have done was right, or that i am a supporter of such acts..
I am facinated with how a mind of a serial killer works, and i enjoy reading descriptive, and detailed profiles of cases such as the ones above, it gives me a better understanding of how the human, and not so human brain works.
anyone is capable of anyting & these men and women show you that your typical father, husband, wife, mother, son, daughter ect. are not who you think they are, these people’s family believe the lie that they’re being told..
just say it was your son for example,
while hes at school getting good grades, hanging out with friends, being a normal teen, when your not there, or he tells you he’s going to the movies or something, he is out murdering innocent people.
he comes home, you make small talk, ask him house the movie was, he answers ‘yeah good’ and you dont think anymore of it, little did you know 10 minutes before he walked through the door, he’d killed and left and innocent person laying somewhere, waiting to be discovered. and you didnt know this, because you believed the lie.
these people are normal people, they just dont think normally, like us.
I defintely do not agree with murder, killings, ect.
so dont misunderstand what im saying.

This is what we need more of but in a different form. Then police would actualy do their damn jobs instead of prosecuting individuals for such small crimes. It would be nice to have someone like these people strive to take out corrupt law inforcment and those who pray on the small shortcumings of the every day hard working americans. We are ruled by the wealthy ,(judges and lawyers) who can neither relate nor empathize with the needs of the poor. a younge single mother with a middle wage job smokes pot to eas the pane that she can rightly provide for her children. She grows her own and is caught and prosecuted with 2 years of probation. DHR gets the kids then she dose meth cause she dosnt even care any more. The make her pay for drug screenings and pay fines even thought the only person she is hurting is herself. I beleive each person can do what ever the hell they want as long as it doesnt take away from the rights of another. The police took away what was left of her family. Now its up to people like us to level the corrupt pendalum of justice. I can only hope that our actions will bring more focus to real crime and take some of the burden off of the everyday people who just want to forget the hell they live in. Maybe if enough law enforcement is slaughtered then they will start to be weiry of jioning the acadomy to get a peice of the goverment pie that is filled with corruption. We can show them what true evil is so they can better disern a small crime of personal substance.

Behram and Charles Manson were essentially cult leaders which puts them in a slightly different category from serial killers. They are in a way more powerful as they can manipulate others into carrying out their commands. Behram was also a robber and a devout follower of Khali, the Hindu goddess of death. He believed that every murder commited by his sect prevented the return of the goddess. Manson was cultured and charming and selected mainly young women to form his family ( who had to prove their loyalty to him by shaving their heads). He beleived that ‘Helter Skelter’ (an apocalyptic race war between blacks and whites) was inevitable. But really relished the attention he and his family was recieving. Most serial killers thrive on attention and love to impose fear and exercise control. The worst killers are the ones that prey on vulnerable people such as children and old people. Albert Fish and Andrei Chikatilo should be on this list for this reason. Andrei Chikatilo was not denounced as a serial killer to the rest of the world outside Russia because they didn’t want the publicity to blacken their communist utopia. Sometimes the regimes can be just as apathetic and as corrupted as the killers themselves. Dictators are always reviled as the most evil men and women in history though which is not always fair because most struggle to simply handle the responsibility and grow more paranoid and deluded as a result. JTR made the point that Hitler fought for his beliefs and I agree with that, Hitler also fought to stay in power for as long as possible, insisting that every German fight to the last man which included children (Downfall is a must-see film for this). Serial killers though would never wield this kind of power which makes them far far less important figures in History. They kill because it makes them feel powerful and gives them pleasure and in their twisted minds it gives them a purpose in life. If we are going to talk about dictators though there should surely be a spot for chairman Mao. He killed 70 MILLION of his OWN people.

What about Harold Shipman. He definately preyed on the elderly who were vulnerable.
