Are We All Victims of Copyright Infringement?

What would you say if a site committed piracy on one of your articles published here? This happened to several members here.

I published a number of articles here, as many of us. I made a lot of friends and I seize the opportunity to thank them all for their kindness.

I discovered that my recent article “Hospitable Abbey of Sablonceaux” has been published in full on a site that is not connected to triond, without my consent, without my name and with no link to trifter.com where it originally was posted. This is a characteristic copyright infringement entailing offence against the law and lack of income for the author. This is also a violation of intellectual property and something that hurts an individual.

We all write here with sincerity and I say bravo to all triond writers that make every effort each day to make this site a lively one.

I discovered that several members here had also been spoliated too. I am not going to give the address of the guilty site here, they don’t deserve advertisement. If you think you are a another victim, check out on the net    by just typing one of your articles title. You may have a bad surprise…

Of course, I sent an e-mail to the accused site and to triond. You can also contact me for details, I’ll be glad to answer.

Thanks for the info my friend. Indeed nothing is free in the planet but you would even risk paying for aspirin for headaches if for sheer fun of sharing your ideas, somebody takes ownership of it. God punishes the bad though.

I have never made any money on my writings. I don’t even mind if people use them to share with others. The ONLY thing I expect is that MY NAME BE USED AS THE AUTHOR. It hurts when someone STEALS my work, and takes claim of it as theirs. Or worse yet, don’t even give me credit.

This is an important issue, often overlooked by writers. I’ve found some of my articles on other sites pirated earlier but I have to check my Triond articles. It’s very flattering if someone borrows and gives due credit, but really annoying if they steal.

This is an ongoing issue on the internet! Many times, my articles were used the same way like yours. You just have to contact the site owner, and ask them to remove it. Some people will, others will ignore you..

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Bravo! for speaking out. Most of us are writers and poets who work very hard to submit our own creativity to have some stupid idiot on the forum spin our articles and then duplicate one similar to ours. It’s called spinning. I feel that this site should be restricted to only serious writers and poets. Change your passoword often and don’t participate in the forums. I have contacted Triond regarding this matter. If I do encounter another writer or poet copying and pasting something similar to mine, I will definitely let you know Francoise. Excellent and well-written article.

Francois, I’m sorry I missed this one. I feel sure it happens to most of us, but we usually don’t find out. It is upsetting when you find someone else earning off your work. I suggest entering your name on Google ever so often and see what comes up.
