Argument for Capital Punishment
This is a short speech I have made arguing for Capital Punishment.
Capital punishment has long been a subject of great debate, with most people taking ether an extreme view on ether side.
It should be clear to all of you that the decision to end a man/woman’s life is not yours to make, we have no right to end someone’s life with a simple word.
The decision should be made by the family or the person who was most affected. We cannot comprehend the thoughts of those who have experienced the loss, and so we and the government should not be able to pass judgement on the matter, the only way forward is for capital punishment to be reinstated, and the judgement and responsibility for the execution be given to the affected or loved ones of the victim,
Yet I do not argue about who should control it, but whether it should be legalised
However much in favour of capital punishment you are then you must consider various things, most of which are used to argue against it.
If the proper precautions are taken before carrying out the death sentence then things such as killing an innocent person can be avoided
Capital punishment is the most extreme sentence that can be devised, and should only be considered if the evidence convicting the felon is indisputable, if it is not, then there is a real possibility that an innocent man could be executed.
With such a major issue such as this being considered there is one less reason for it to be opposed.
Capital punishment should be legalised in order to make the streets and our country safer.
So many shudder at that thought, and yet should it be legal then many of those who have no hope of redemption or have no wish to redeem themselves, can be dealt with efficiently and without further cost.
Rather than keeping someone in prison who would commit crimes again as soon as they were released.
Speaking in the most logical terms, it is safer to execute those who would commit crimes again than to leave them ether on the streets or in prison.
All of those serial killers, rapists, paedophiles are better off dead if they will not recant or cease their crimes, for if there is no hope of redemption, then there is no need to keep them alive.
Cast away any emotional attachments to a person that cause unspeakable horrors to anyone without a second thought.
How can you feel pity for someone who doesn’t feel it also?

You bring up some good points, however, How would you like to be the INNOCENT person on death row, who was going to be executed? Killing is killing no matter who does it. Who is going to punish the killer of the killer?

unfortunatly these things do happen, and so we must be sure, with irrevokable proof, that the person is guilty and deserving of such a harsh punishment

Some good points but as once a person has been executed, you can’t bring them back to life….how certain can you be that you have the right person? How many times do we have to read that a man, having served 15 years of a life sentence, having been convicted on the eye witness testemony of a victim…turns out to be innocent? How many times do we have to read of the ‘real’ killer being disovered through DNA tests years after the man/woman convicted has been buried? You start talking of murderers and then move on to wanting to kill rapists and paedophiles. Hmmm based on your arguments, that seventeen yearold boy, accused of ‘rape’ because of consentual sex with a girl just a year younger…would have been put on deathrow. Instead he will be labelled a sex offender for life. By all means make those who offend serve a sentence suitable for their crime and if they reoffend – parking tickets etc. excluded – deal with them more severely.
