Associations – The Easiest Way to Steal Money From People
by Associations of all kinds, espeacially charity associations make big changes in a world, better say, in someone`s life. There is so much they can do – but also, unfortunately, they`re the easisest way to take money from people and not get punished for that.
While being a part of an animal protection association, I had a chance to see how easy it is to take money from people. Of course, it is not possible to see it at first, there are people who are volunteers or donors already for years, but still didn’t understand where their money goes.
Before deciding to be a part of some association as a donor, people should know some facts about associations and the way they work. I don’t want to backbite associations, but give some advices to all benevolent people so they continue giving their money for something good, but on a right addresses.
How can you know the association is stealing?
If you are a donor, and ask for a financial report, and can’t get it – they re hiding something. Every donor has a right to know where did its money go, and on what was it spent.
If you`re a volunteer, than especially you have the right to know about financial state. If there is nothing to hide, everything could be shown.
Very important thing – if you donate money, don’t just give it and leave it. You should follow that association and see how it works. If you meet a lot of people telling you they donate, and still, association works bad – for example, the dogs are still hungry – there is something wrong.
Put the money always on bank account – don’t give it in cash because than they don’t have to justify where it disappeared – that money doesn’t exist.
If you give money in cash, make sure you gave it to someone who maybe doesn’t represent the association, but is a hard working and reliable person. Or even better, give donations in material if possible.
In almost every association there are volunteers who are fighting against stealing, and who really do good thing, and make it work. They are the ones you should ask about the current needs and the ones you should trust and keep in touch if you really want to help.
We are all citizens of this world! And we all ought to participate in making changes. But pay attention to do it right! There are too many thing happening that shouldn`t and unfortunately, the ones that get hurt are the ones that need help the most.
