Canada’s Top 5 Multi Million Dollar Drug Busts
Canada’s war on drugs and all the recent multi million dollar drug busts.
Being from Canada is not always fun and easy going like many think. We have our fair share of crime here and drug problems are common among the residents here just like any other country. With that said I would like to share with all of you the 5 most recent multi million dollar drug busts we have had here in the past 2 years.
- Our first million dollar drug bust took place in an Auto Parts parking lot in the early morning hours of November 23, 2005 in the Toronto area. While police where searching for another vehicle they noticed two men talking at the back of a transport trailer and decided to check it out. As the police approached one of the men proceeded to close the trailer doors and lock them. After a short while of speaking to the two men in different cop cars the stories weren’t matching and that’s when police decided to search the transport. After a quick search with police dogs the officers came across 280 pounds of high grade marijuana worth over 1 million dollars on the street. Both men have been charged with possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy to posses with intent. Both charges have sentences up to fifteen years each.
- This second bust is a little larger and more organized. On Thursday morning November 23, 2006 at 10am Toronto police arrested 3 men in connection with a marijuana grow operation which spanned nearly 2 dozen apartments in a single Toronto high rise. One of the men was the Superintendent of the building. More then 6,000 marijuana plants where seized from 22 apartments, worth an estimated six million dollars. Another 15 kilograms of dried product was found worth nearly forty five thousand dollars. All 3 men face charges of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
- On January 28, 2007 after years of investigations Richmond, Burnaby and Vancouver police executed 5 search warrants and arrested 5 people in connection to one of Canada’s biggest drug rings. Police found kilos of ecstasy pills. In one house alone police found over $500,000 dollars worth of methamphetamine and $150,000 worth of ecstasy powder and 9 pill presses. Another home that was searched yield over $3 million in other drugs and more ecstasy. Most of the houses that had warrants served on them turned out to be storage for the ready made street product. All 8 people face many charges and all are still in jail.
- On February 8, 2007 Halton police pulled over a Brampton man after receiving a tip. After a quick search police where stunned to find over $8 million worth of uncut pure cocaine hidden in a shipment of carrots. If the cocaine was diluted like it normally is before hitting the streets then it would have been worth over $20 million. This is the largest-ever cocaine seizer in Halton’s history. Police also believe the Colombians are linked to the connection of this shipment. The Brampton man was charged in connection of the drug bust.
Friday October 19, 2007 Toronto police pulled over a vehicle with 3 men in it. After a search of the vehicle police came across 125,000 ecstasy pills weighing in at about 15 kilograms. Discovery of the pills lead police to a nearby Toronto home which was used as a marijuana grow operation the year before and busted. The house was entered again by police, RCMP and Health Canada and found over $20 million worth of ecstasy and equipment to make it.
These are the 5 most recent multi-million dollar drug bust we have had here in the past few years. I hope you enjoyed it!

every time a doctor writes out a prescription and you pick it up from the Pharmacey, WHY do we feel comfortable with that? the fact is that WE are victims of the biggest drug ring in the world? this is also fact.. ( with exception of penicillin & vitamin C) anything a MD prescribes to you MUST be, by law, classified as a drug. …back in the lab… to be classified as a drug,by law, the product Must have a certain toxicity level ( how many rats it has killed) there is a specific term for this measurement, that we ,by law, are rightfully allowed to ask our pharmacist and They have to inform us of the –?– level (I think its similar to L.D. level or somethin along that line) Point being, why does nobody know the truth of this nor the truth behind the basic design of our health care system. A pharmasutical conspeiracy, another way the govn’t succsessfully control our lives. and deaths. and population. and our dependencies. our weeknesses. and manipulates our freedom so easily because we have no reason not to trust our system, its all we know. educate yourself, and do not support the real drug lords out there. The danger is right under our noses! wake up.
