Dangers of Drinking and Driving

You’re driving on the highway, your vision is blurred and you have no sense of distance. You are now regretting those four beers you drank an hour earlier at that party. By the time the party ended you realize you drank four beers that night and you have no designated driver. You decide to get into your car and drive home anyways, but what you don’t realize is that your blood alcohol level is 0.08 and your are 6x more likely to get into a fatal accident.

Now as your driving down the highway you realize that you are losing control of your car, you try to get the car back on track ,but your vision is blurred. You lose control of the car, it slams into a mini-van with a family of 5 in it. The next thing you remember is you lying in the hospital bed with your family surrounding you. You ask “Is the family in the mini-van ok?” Your wife shakes her head no and says “They didn’t make it.”

The doctor comes in the room and says to you “I’m sorry but you will never be able to walk again because you damaged your spinal cord.” Just think if you would have decided not to drive after drinking alcohol, none of this would have happened. That poor family in that mini-van would have been fine and you would be able to walk and support your family. Just think, don’t drink before you drive.
