Dead Bodies All Over The House
In this crime infested neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio, murders went on for two years with bodies lying in the house and yard of Anthony Sowell. Nothing was reported to police until one woman went to authorities with a story of being savagely attacked and raped in the home at the hands of Sowell. When police arrived to investigate they found Sowell digging a grave in his back yard.
Dead bodies were found all over the house and yard of a man named Anthony Sowell who lives in Cleveland Ohio. The home is in a crime and drug infected neighborhood, where the man was recently convicted of killing 11 women. The dead women disappeared between 2007 and 2009. Some of the women had police records, some did not. Police went to the house to investigate when a women claimed she had been savagely raped by Sowell. As in most neighborhoods of high crime, Police officers were criticized for not investigating when families had earlier reported their family members missing.

Dead bodies were scattered in and around Sowell’s house and others were buried in his yard. When the police went to the house to arrest him he was digging a grave. Bodies were found in garbage bags and wrapped in plastic sheets, one woman’s skull was found in a bucket in Sowell’s basement. Several women testified at his trial to savage attacks and rapes at his hands. It was unclear why they hadn’t previously reported to police. One of the women said she had seen bodies in Sowell’s house.
Most of the murdered victims had been bound, gagged and strangled. The defense attorney questioned if there were more than one person doing the killing. In his defense Sowell said that he didn’t know where the bodies came from. He also said that he heard voices and a voice told him not to go into a bedroom where two bodies were found, and that he had nightmares where he hurt women. When questioned about the bodies in his house, Sowell said, “It had to be me, I can’t describe anybody. I don’t know. But I’m trying to.”
A sausage making shop in the neighborhood had been accused of the vile smells in the neighborhood and had spent thousands of dollars on sewer lines and grease traps to get rid of the odor. It was believed that Sowell lured the victims to the home with promises of drugs and money.
Sowell was convicted of 11 deaths and other charges. He faces the death penalty. The jury was out 15 hours before announcing the verdict.

This man is sick. I don’t know how someone could kill people like that. He needs to be thrown under the jail. Thanks for sharing.

Just goes to show, that we never know what could be going on right next door to us. He looks like the poster child for crazy. It’s a shame so many lost their lives before he was caught.

This is utterly disturbing. I can\’t believe some people are like this in our society – there are many creeps out there who haven\’t been caught yet! Prayers go out to the victim\’s family and friends. Imagine the brutal horror…

My question, besides the ones other people have, is why would it take the jury THAT long to come up with a decision? If you find bodies all over someone’s house, you find them burying someone, and there are many reports of violence from the individual, then why would deliberations take THAT long? Very disturbing, to say the least.
