Death Penalty Around the World: Six Ways to Die
More than 10 countries still use the social sadistic game of death penalty as punishment. What are the ways to die? Where are they applied? Which are the most painful?
More than 10 countries still use the social sadistic game of Death Penalty as punishment. What are the ways to die? Where are they applied? Which are the most painful?
Many countries use the Death Penalty as a social device to inhibit hideous crimes (following the country’s parameters of what is hideous). Although no Scientific Study demonstrates any reduction in criminal activities provoked by the presence of the Death Penalty, those countries still use that barbaric ritual. What countries are those, and which are the ways to be cruelly assassinated by the Government?
-
Fusilladed

A Fusillade Squad is positioned six meters in front of the person sentenced to the Death Penalty. Usually using rifles, the Squad fires all the weapons simultaneously at a standing or sit victim. It is a popular way to die in war crimes. Even countries that doesn’t have the Death Penalty institutionalized in their culture, opens exceptions in Wars.
In that case, the victim is shot from multiple directions being wounded in multiple places. The condemned dies from the hemorrhage of various organs or, if the victim is lucky, a bullet reaches the brain, what means in most cases, instantaneous death. Specialists classify this pain and suffering as average. In my opinion, it is very easy to classify pain as average when you were not the one shot multiple times to death.
The places that still use that Capital Punishment are USA, Somalia, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Guatemala and Vietnam.
-
Stoned to Death
The Death Penalty Sentence “stoned to death” is usually applied to criminals that attempted against the honor of women in Muslin countries, and tradition make the male family members of the victim and male members of the local community, the killers of the condemned to death.
The death penalty condemned is wrapped in a sheet and thrown into a hole. The executioners stand around the hole and throw rocks on the condemned. As a ritual designed to be cruel, the death penalty “stoned to death” makes every effort to make the death long and painful. The condemned dies mostly by the rocks that smite his head.
The places with that death penalty are: Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
-
Hanged

In the death penalty “hanged”, the rope is boiled, twisted and lubricated with soap before tied around the condemned’s neck. The condemned, with the rope around his neck, wait for the trapdoor under his feet to open and hang his body to death by the neck. When the death is fast, the spine breaks in the moment that the condemned is hanged, along with the medulla, and in that case, the victim dies in less than 60 seconds.
Specialists say that this death penalty is the most humane and least painful way to die, if the sadistic ritual of hanging is correctly executed. In cases where the executioners make the rope too long, the condemned might take more than 20 minutes to die (in that case, by choking) and the pain and suffering are maximized.
The places that still have the hanging as a Capital Punishment are: USA, China, Guatemala and Iraq.
-
Electric Chair

The condemned to the death penalty “electric chair” is tied to a chair with leather stripes. His body had already been shaved to avoid flaming hair. The executioner binds electrodes wet in a saline solution on the legs and head of the condemned to death, and a metal helmet is placed over the head.
After blindfolding the death penalty condemned, the executioner activates the chair and releases at least two discharges from 500 to 2000 volts. If the condemned survives, the executioner repeats the process until the victim dies.
The victim’s suffering is related to the time he takes to die, varying from average to high pain. The only country that uses the Capital Punishment “electric chair” is the USA.
-
Decapitation

In the Death Penalty “decapitation”, the victim is placed standing or sit, and the executioner uses a sword to cut his head off. A good executioner can provide a fast and “merciful” death with just one blow. But, if the executioner is not that professional and the victim’s vertebrae and muscles are too tight, the executioner may need more blows, what may increase exponentially the suffering.
The death happens when the medulla is cut. In that case, the breathing and heartbeat cease immediately.
The places that still apply the “decapitation” as a death penalty are: Saudi Arabia, China, Guatemala and Iraq.
-
Lethal Injection

When the death penalty condemned is tied over a bed, the executioners place two probes in the veins on his arms. One of them has an isotonic solution that will latter be replaced by poison, and the second one is a fail safe, in case of failure of the system. First, a sedative is released in the condemned’s veins. When the victim sleeps, curare (a powerful paralyzing toxin) is injected in the victim, and in the end, potassium chloride. After the potassium, the heart stops and the victim dies from 5 to 7 minutes. Specialists guarantee that the pain is minimal and that it is one of the most humane means to death penalty.
The places that apply “lethal injection” as a death penalty are: USA, China and Guatemala.
In an overall view, the countries that execute more prisoners through death penalty are: China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, USA and Pakistan.

Thanks for the comment, S Hayes. Although I think death penalty is revolting, I also believe that the science involved is fascinating.

I’m guessing your one of the people who are crying over the execution of the Mexican national even though he took part in the gang rape and murder of two of our citizens. Yes, let him live in prison while the family of those 16 and 14 year old girls mourn their loss. Or should we get rid of prison too?
By the way the word you’re looking for is humane.

Sorry, Anthony A. I don’t know what you are talking about. Didn’t see the news about that Mexican. Well… thanks for the critic, despite the tone of your comment.

I think the death penalties are just plain mean!
If we had to have at least one death penalty I would choose
Lethal Injection it sounds the least painful of them all.
The rest sound so painful!
I have never met anyone who has had to get any of the ten death penalties and I am so glad that I haven’t.
I so very much hope no one in my family does something so bad that they have to get the stoned to death penalty cause I could just not do that!
I hope the United States make the death penalty illegal cause it is so stupid! Could someone explain why they do this!?!?! Just put the person in prison their whole life! I mean it’s way better then the death penalty!

Although I do not agree with the death penalty as I find it a huge hypocrysm, how can you take a life when you are punishing them for taking life? I must say this page would be a lot more appreciated if you stick to the facts rather than slip in your own opinions by describing punishments using your own beliefs (constructive criticism i hope?), also i do believe that during hanging it’s if the rope is too long the individual is decapitated rather than strangled, and is strangled when the rope is too short?

Also… I believe death is the easy way out, if someone did something bad to one of my loved ones, I’d much rather them suffer a long horrible freedomless life in prison than have the option of death!

I think that if you kill someone then you should be killed. An eye for an eye. It’s only fair. However, I also believe that the offender should be killed in the same manner as the victim(s). How fair is it to the victim that the offender gets to sit in jail..where they are guaranteed 3 hot meals a day, and a warm shelter, in return for taking someone’s life? In most cases they get aceess to the internet and cable t.v. And they get to go outside and have yard time too. They are treated way too well if you ask me.

I was surprised that you left out a very well known form of capital punishment, the gas chamber.
There’s also some controversy as to whether lethal injection really is “mostly painless”. Some atopsies have found amounts of sodium pentothal so small that it was very possible the condemned were very aware of what was happening. They’d have been aware, and in severe pain, and incredible terror I’m sure, as the potassium chloride was injected to stop the heart, and pancuronium bromide injected to paralyze the lungs.
I was all for Capital Punishment growing up as a kid, but as I got older I turned against it. Too many innocent people are being killed in our incredibly flawed justice system.

I don’t agree with you, Casyle, gas chamber was not capital punishment, it was a torture machine made to destroy not the guilty persons, but the jews ! They were inocent !

All of these punishments are uncalled for. They should just keep the Lethal Injection. If you ask me,the rest are talking it overboard especially the chopping of the head.

By the way, HBQ, they do not get into the trial, get the death penalty and then one day after they are executed. no, most of the time they sit in prison like maybe 1-10 years in prison then they’re executed. so, they have to like rot in prison then they are executed. i also agree that taking a life that have already taken someone else’s life is not right, but if the murder gets out by escaping from prison, which do happen, more people will die.
