Funny Fishy Tale
Fisherman have endless stories of fishing tales, this one had I not been there, I would have never believed.

We went back to camp, cooked up all the fish, except for the mighty big one; it was decide that it was going to the taxidermists to be mounted. This fish was truly a Hugh fish, and it was the talk of the night. Taking no chances leaving the fish to the night time critters, the fish was place in the car with water to help keep it somewhat alive; a least that is what they told me.

The next morning we got up, took down our tents, cleared the area, and brought all the trash to the proper garbage disposals; it was amazing that even in the woods, we had to recycle. After a careful inspection of the area, making sure there was not litter, the fire was out, and no one would even know we were there.
Off to town we went to find a local taxidermist, as we drove along we could still hear the fish, he managed to survived the night and before we left camp we gave him fresh water. We stopped in town near a lake, which I believe was just the other end of the lake we had fished in. After showing the older more experienced fisherman our prize fish; it was then that our big smile turned into a frown.
This was truly an amazing size fish and it would look beautiful mounted, but this type of fish, isn’t in season until June 1st , which was a few days away. If we were caught with this fish, there would be a heavy fine. Reluctantly my friend, released the fish, but not before taking a lot of photos since he did not want another one of those fish stories. The fish hit the water, at first it was unclear if he would survive, but within a minute I guess he need to adjust to the temperature, and off he was; within a few seconds he was gone. How ironic we all thought that one of the largest fishes ever caught between them, and it was illegal to have. They should have just eaten him last night, but had they; there would be no funny fishy tale to tell about.

its a story really about the one that got away.I always think its a shame to kill a large fish, if it was me i would let it go to get even bigger.

This is quite a fish tale, and instead of the old saying “it got away”, this was “it was given away”, back to its natural home. When I was a child caught a very large carp, left it in the basket in water overnight off the dock, in the morning we went to show others and to our disappointment a poisonous water snake had gotten in the basket and chewed him up
I wish you many, many more fishing trips where you are able to catch THE BIG ONE again!
