Gangs and Communities at War

Ever heard a gun go off in your community? Can we turn these gang members into something positive in their lives? Does it pay well? If you are a gang member you are obviously making serious money, or just plan out of touch, working for someone who is paying you this big money for drive by shootings or other crimes hurting innocent people, is it worth it, to go down for the rest of your life to live in a cage?

When I was in prison 22 years ago, I saw it all, it was not pretty and to graphic to bring it in this type of Internet environment. More children are being recruited into these gangs each day. The work has to start now our future communities are heading for serious trouble. Our children are in trouble, they will not be able to concentrate on the simple task of gong to school each day. Bombarded with messages of hate, being loyal, it is like military recruitment, it is a cultist environment so embedded in our system. This has become a disease, with its own darkness, preaching their so called evil propaganda to our youth in this nation and throughout the world.

Lets face it drugs have become big money as well as enticing traps, why would a youth stop selling drugs when he or she is making more money in a day then most do in a high paying job and it is tax free, most gang members are low income folks. It is to enticing for them to continue doing this. Most of them come from impoverished environments or poor family values, beaten or tortured or raised with no discipline or guidance, raped left at home alone, often it is not any one’s fault some may come from healthy environments as well, often it is a catch 22 situation, both parents are required to work these days. Parents cannot provide for their children even when they both are working. Childcare is expensive as well, so these children are left at home alone to fend for themselves in a lot of families today. You would be amazed at what goes on in our society behind closed doors. Most of it would be shocking, may the truth be told.

Even the very rich youth have groups or sororities started now, that are doing the same things as well. Look at some of the college campuses today, what you are reading or seeing about them on TV or radio. This disease does not care whom it infects, rich or poor this does not matter.

Our Nation spends billions of dollars on really nothing, when it can be used for better provisions for everyone to improve schools, provide social activities, programs for drug related issues, on and on. Will the government continue to spend money on things that are not really prudent for our people who are dying on the sidewalks of America, shooting each other at random, committing acts of torture on a daily basis, infecting our streets and neighborhoods with serious narcotics and violence. Let us think about this, people are screaming for help is their anyone listening. Is this something your tax dollars ought to be funding, ask yourselves that question. Or would we rather fund a space stations or a fund rockets or missiles or even wars outside our own boarders. I think most Americans would agree that we need to focus on our Nation right now and its own issues and problems as well as what is our priorities.

I really do not know where this will go, I pray that our next President will assist in these matters of grave importance. I know I would surely be protecting our boarders as well as getting some necessary and badly needed funding for improving our school systems that the lottery was supposed to be doing if you recall every dollar spent was a dollar for the school systems when it began, where did that go? Offering work programs for our youth as well as focusing on neighborhoods and improving living conditions in poorer areas, making housing more affordable. Assisting property owners to be able to improve these low income housing projects with funding from Government agencies. Lots more youth programs, we preach that they are our future what are we doing for them? I really question this, so should we all. It goes on and on with the greater and common good of mankind to help each other to a better future. Maybe this is what we need to build upon.
