  1. Put That iPod Way

    Electronics are well targeted nowadays, so put them away. I would suggest you put them in a pocket rather than a purse because purses can be snatched more easily.

  2. Know Your Surroundings

    Know what´s around you and stay away from possible sources of danger. Some places that may put you at risk: cars, dumpsters, alleys, liquor stores, railroad tracks, and bridges.

  3. Don’t Walk Alone

    Use the buddy system, that way if something goes wrong, your buddy can help or call the authorities.

  4. Don’t Keep Your Hands in Your Pockets

    This may signal that you are carring something important in you pocket and want to protect it.

  5. Try to Hide Anything Shiny

    This calls a lot of attention and may attract unwanted company.

  6. Put Your Watch Away

    Take that shiny jewelery off and put it in you pocket.

  7. Stop Looking Around Too Much

    Know your surroundings, but don´t look around too much, this may attract robbers.

  8. Walk in Groups

    If you are alone and you see a group that doesn’t seem like a threat, walk close to them.

  9. In the Event You Are Mugged…

    hold your anger and just be aware of the robber or the scene. Try to get the facts down like: robber´s height, ethnicity, eye, skin, and hair color. This may help you get your stuff back in the future.
