Investigators Seized Evidence After Raid on Dr Conrad Murray Home and Office

This article covers the sinultaneous raids on Dr Murray’s Las Vegas Home and office. It follows the raid last week on his Houston’s office.

Further details have emerged from the raid by investigators on the Las Vegas home, and office, of Dr. Conrad Murray. According to the Associated Press (AP) the investigators searched the home for three hours, and removed six plastic storage containers, and several thick manila envelopes, cell phones and computer hard drives. The search on the office lasted nine hours, and several boxes were removed. The investigators were however tight-lipped about the contents.

One of the groups that were reportedly involved in the raid was the DEA’s Los Angeles Tactical Division Squad. This department investigates cases that involve prescription drugs, such as narcotic painkillers, purchased or obtained illegally, by “doctor shoppers” with the intention of selling or feeding an addiction.

Dr. Murray’s attorney, Ed Chernoff, reportedly said that the sealed search warrant “authorized investigators to look for medical records relating to Michael Jackson, and all of his reported aliases. Dr. Murray has become the main focus of the investigation surrounding Michael Jackson’s death, as it is alleged that he administered the Propofol that is believed to have led to the Michael Jackson’s cardiac arrest on June 25th 2009. The investigators are seeking to find whether the administering of a powerful anesthetic as a sleep aid, was a reckless act that qualifies to the level of manslaughter.

These raids, although they appeared to have yielded some information, the six day delay between the raid at the Houston office and the Las Vegas home and office was likely to cost the investigators the element of surprise. What was the reason for the delay?
